Well, this list does not get very much action. Having said that, I feel
as you did, very sorry that they let Tom go. (And Kevin Millwood, too.) I
am a Braves fan first, but I always liked Tom as a player and as a person
(not that I ever met him, but everything I've read about him has been so
positive). I won't put the blame on Tom, this is how baseball (and NFL
football) is now; you can probably kiss goodbye the notion that any one
player will remain with one team for his whole career. From what I read, Tom
would have liked to stay with the Braves, but they really didn't offer him
anything. For a player of his longevity, I thought that the Braves owed him
a decent contract offer, or a good reason why not. Sometimes, maybe it's
your pride that's on the line. I am still a Braves fan, not a Mets fan, but
I continue to wish Tom Glavine all the best in his career, and in his future.
Pam
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?
