I know what you mean about the bad taste in your mouth, Angie. I have
it too. I'm still a Braves fan, but it's just really different now.
It really bothered me how the Braves front office treated the entire
situation. They didn't seem to do a very good job in letting Tom know
he was appreciated. I'm also bothered by some fans in Atlanta who
have bashed Tom so terribly. They call him greedy, washed up, doesn't
care about the fans and now that Maddux has agreed to arbitration,
they say "See, Maddux is more loyal that Glavine could ever be" etc,
etc. It really angers me. I'm glad he still has some of his fan base.
Cause the thing is, Tom isn't greedy. Tom isn't washed up. And Tom
certainly does care about his fans. I know that. Ugh. It's all very
unsettling. But, I've already updated my web site with photos of him
in his Mets uniform and I've already purchased a New York Mets
baseball cap. Yep, I've joined the darkside. LOL.
