Hello, all! Welcome to the Tom Glavine Club on Yahoo, dedicated to the current Atlanta Braves starting pitcher.
Glavine began his baseball career back in 1984 when he was drafted by the Braves organization. He made his Major League debut August 17, 1987 against the Houston Astros and notched his first career win one start later on August 22 -- a 10-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Glavine amassed a lengthy, successful reign with the Braves (which included two Cy Young awards and a World Series MVP), before heading to the New York Mets in December 2002 via free agency.
During the 2006 postseason for the Mets, he pitched 16 consecutive scoreless innings, finishing with a 2-1 record and a 1.59 ERA. Glavine won his 300th career game as a member of the Mets on August 5, 2007 -- an 8-3 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
In November 2007, Glavine became a free agent and returned to the Atlanta Braves, signing a one-year deal with the team he began his career with.
