I went to all of Todd Martin's macthes at the NASDAQ and I must say
he had some very exciting matches. I had a box seat when he played
in the stadium and sat very close to him when he played on court 1
and the grandstand.

In the first round he came back in the second set from being down 4-
1 with Heuberger serving to win the set 6-4, then won the third set 6-
2.

In his second round match against Jarkko Nieminen they split sets
and was Todd down a break and a match point on Nieminen's serve.

His third round match against Jurgen Melzer went without any
comebacks as he won in straight sets (7-6, 6-3). This match was
exciting because Todd had just lost to Metzer a week ago at boca
raton.

Todd's run finally ended against Andrei Pavel when he lost 7-6, 7-
6. For some reason Todd made a lot of unforced errors and had
trouble with his serve. I think the sun really bothered him, and he
had to serve into the sun in both tie breakers. He lost his serve in
the beginning of the 2nd set, but broke back, and then got broken
again and again he broke back when Pavel was serving for the match at
6-5.
