This from Cubs.com somewhere amidst all the Nomar-gasms people are
having because Garciaparra is staying...
The Cubs also declined to pick up Moises Alou's option for 2005 and
are not expected to offer the left fielder arbitration on Tuesday.
One option to replace Alou is Todd Hollandsworth, also a free agent,
and the Cubs could offer him arbitration to keep the lines of
communication open. The same is true of catcher Paul Bako.
Hollandsworth batted .318 in 57 games before suffering a stress
fracture in his right leg. He is running now and said his leg
is "100 percent healed."
"I'm back to speed," Hollandsworth said. "I'm running now as well as
ever."
