DENVER (TICKER) -- Todd Hollandsworth enjoyed the
kind of day most players can only dream about, and
many of those dreams seem to come true at Coors
Field.<br><br>Hollandsworth belted three home runs, including a three-run
shot in the bottom of the 10th inning, as the Colorado
Rockies rallied for a 10-7 victory over the Arizona
Diamondbacks.<br><br>It was the first three-homer game for the Rockies'
outfielder, who also had a pair of two-run shots and drove in
a career-high seven runs. His second homer gave
Colorado a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the
eighth.<br><br>"It's fun to have the opportunity to be in that
situation," said Hollandsworth, who has three two-homer
games. "That's what being a major league baseball player
is all about."<br><br>Ron Gant started the 10th with
a single off Troy Brohawn (0-1) and moved up on
Todd Walker's sacrifice. After Todd Helton was
intentionally walked, Matt Mantei came on to face Jeff Cirillo
and uncorked a wild pitch.<br><br>Cirillo struck out,
but Hollandsworth drilled a 1-0 pitch over the fence
in right field, ending a wild afternoon at
hitter-friendly Coors Field in which the teams combined for seven
home runs.<br><br>"Mantei is one of the best (closers)
and there's a reason for it," Hollandsworth said. "I
was just able to get a fastball down and in a little
bit and drive it."<br><br>Hollandsworth had been
0-for-3 lifetime against Mantei with three strikeouts,
which is why Arizona manager Bob Brenly opted not to
intentionally walk him with a base open.<br><br>"I thought he'd
(Mantei) be able to overpower him with high fastballs,"
Brenly said. "Obviously, it didn't work out that
way."<br><br>Horacio Estrada (1-1), the seventh Colorado pitcher,
earned the victory. He said he was nervous pitching in
Coors Field but tossed a perfect inning to record his
first win in a Rockies' uniform.<br><br>"The pitchers
on the other team are more scared than us," Estrada
said. "I want everybody here to know me. I guess they
know me a little more now because I had a great
inning."<br><br>Larry Walker, nursing a sore ankle, struck out as a
pinch-hitter in the bottom of the ninth, ending a 10-game
hitting streak.<br><br>"Obviously, Larry's our best
player and without him, we've got to pick it up a
notch," Todd Walker said. "Certainly, Hollandsworth did
that. To be able to take two of three from them is
pretty special."<br><br>Although not nearly as effective
as his first two outings, Arizona starter Curt
Schilling left with a 5-4 lead and was in position to
become the National League's first three-game winner. He
allowed four runs and eight hits over seven
innings.<br><br>But Greg Swindell was rocked for two homers and three
runs in the bottom of eighth. Todd Walker tied it with
a solo blast before Hollandsworth put the Rockies
ahead.<br><br>"You know something like this is going to happen,"
Swindell said. "You can't go out and do it every time, but
you dont expect to go out and do this, either."
