Hi Guys,
I found a great new soccer website www.soccercastle.com It has all
the videos of all the match summaries of All the leagues around the
world: England, France, Italy, spain, Germany, and Argentina. You can
watch the summary of all Man United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal,
Milan and all the other Teams. Not only that but It has a great
archive of all the goals of each player. It is really the best
website I found till now and the best about that it is free. Again it

Our team has folded but, we hope to be reborn. Let's all hope the
A-League returns to Syracuse in 2006. The fan club is still working
to organize and support whoever can bring a team back to our city.

Good luck to the Timbers,

Mike

Mike,

Mike it is good to here from you. Our group the
Timbers Army is very basic and that is why we are
getting so many supporters joining in. Anyone can join
us no membership fee or card. We have no officers
which everyone really likes. We are unofficial but we
do go by the rules set by the stadium management. We
are getting bigger by word of mouth the internet and
media are playing a small role in that. We have good
communication with the GM of the Club.

What this all means is, we have had lots of people
stepping up to take charge in ordering and designing
our own scarfs. We had a group make a huge flag for
our section. We have had someone step up and organize
a bus for our away matches in Seattle. Plus we have
many websites ob the Timbers. I have a huge e-mail
list for all the fans that are part of the Timbers
Army.

The basic rule we follow is to support the team by
singing and chanting the whole match in the section
behind the North Goal win or lose. Keep it fun and
allway get together before and after matches. We get
together in the off season too.
We keep getting larger and if all clubs in the USA do
what we do soccer will gain more supporters in the
future.

If you have anymore questions please contact me.

Kurt (Drumman)

I am looking for information about starting a supporters group. I
am one of a few Syracuse fans trying to reorganize the team
supporters group. I am looking for things like mission statement,
Officer responsibilities, etc.

I am also hoping to get communications between all the supporter
groups. I believe good sportsmanship should be shown by all
members. Part of that being welcoming visiting fans and teams.

Please contact me so that we may discuss how we support out teams
and the A-League.

Thanks,
Mike

Things to think about or on my soap box again!

I would like to say that it is great that Finnegan got the indoor
team going this off season to give our lads something to do
once a week. You all seem to be having a great time and i really
enjoyed watching your first match. I have had the pleasure of
meeting with Sasa to discuss ideas for the Timbers Army he
truly is a great addition to our group.

So I feel it is time to move on some ideas for the upcoming
season. You may consider these items on the agenda for the
next Timbers Army Gathering. If you can not make the gathering
please e-mail your feelings on the items we will be looking at.

1. Timber Army shirts we need to decide what color and what
logo or writing they will have.
2. Do we want to have derby hats (driving hats)?
3. Buttons that have the Timbers Army logo.
4. What means are we going to pay for getting things done
5. Do we want to go be an Official supporters club to get
sponsors to pay for things we want
6. What size and types of flags do we want
7. Do we want to do a a monthly fanzine?
8. Do we do the Bitter End game program again?
9. Do we need to make another order of scarfs?
10. News songs and chants
11. Anything that I may have forgot to mention.

Ok now my soap box on these items:
1. The colors we can use for the shirts are white, green or gold.
Green is my choice but some have said it would just blend in
with the seats which is a good point. Gold would work as I do
like Roberto's reto gold jersey. The other thing is Finnegan had
mentioned something from the NASL days for the shirts which
brings me to the logo for the shirt.
The double ax is the creation that Eli did for the Cascade
Rangers. The single double blade ax is from the Timbers of the
old NASL. I use the double blade ax for the Timbers Army web
page logo and business cards. To me a Timbers Army shirt with
the single Double Blade ax is a must. Color of the shirt Green or
Gold.

2. Sasa is really pulling to have derby or driving hats which is fine
with me. White with green writing.

3. Chris had mention Timber Army buttons the size of a quarter
or even smaller very cheap to get done and would look nice.

4. Age old question here is do we collect money as we decide to
do an item or do we start putting our money into a pool to use
when we need to. I am open to either. I do not think it is a bad
idea to tack on a dollar for every item we sell to use that money
to do something else maybe even rent a bus. Maybe even start a
a paid membership, just an idea.

5. Do we want our group to be an official supporters club? I
would like to see it as we could get sponsors to do our
supporters busses for away matches or pay for thing for us. Plus
we have to do what management want us to do now anyway.

6, Flags of green and white are a great idea and if we had a
sponsor they could pay for a huge flag like Sam's Army has.

7. We sat on our hands last year as Chris Metz did not want us to
do a fanzine. We got nothing in return so we need to do a fanzine
and we should do it monthly as every match would be
impossible.

8. The Bitter End Game program was a hit last season we just
need to have everyone working on it .

9. We do need to get more scarfs but money needs to be paid in
advance before we make an order. It is a $800 minimum order.

10. New songs and chants need to be simple and clean with few
words so everyone can learn them quickly. Sasa has some great
ones.

The last thing that I want to say is that the Timbers Army is not
just 107 and the North End.
It is for everyone that wants to support the Timbers Football Club.
Everything that happens in our group at the soccer matches
reflects what people think of the Timbers Army. We are not above
any other soccer fan at PGE Park or at an away stadium. We Are
The Timbers Army!!!!!!

Cheers Kurt

Please remember these important dates!

Tonight the Timbers Army Indoor game at 8:15 at Portland Indoor
This Saturday the Pilot men play at noon at Oregan State in the
play-offs
On Sunday MLS final at 12:30, Pilot women play Santa Clare at

Two Timbers Army events to make note of:

1. The Next gathering will be on SUN NOV 23 after the Timbers
Army Indoor match
 	 Lucky Lab at 4:15.

2. Timbers Army at the Winter Hawks Thursday December 4th,
We want to get group tickets cost of $11.50. Group of 20 or more.
Gisele Currier is getting this done for us so have your money at
the Gathering Sunday November 23rd.

All of you on theTmbers Army E-mail list will get complete details
on the above events.
With so many members being involved in the Indoor Soccer
team it made no since to have a gathering on another date.

On another note I will be going to Europe in the end of March.
However I only have one weekend to see any matches. I will not
have time to see many sites but I will get to Halifax Town on
March 20th to see Jake and Sean. I do not have a favorite EPL
team so it was a chance for me to meet the fans that I e-mail
and chat with. If time allows, I will try to meet up with some
Carlisle fans when I am in Carlisle. The Last few days will be
spent in my fathers homeland Germany.

Cheers

>to me as Jake played it so well. This could have been the
>biggest reason the Timbers misted the playoffs for the first time
>in three years.
>    The arrival of Josh Saunders in Goal on loan from San Jose
>was a big factor to the late season success as he recorded six
>shutouts in the Timbers last 16 matches. Byron Alvarez scored
>12 goals and 1 assist for 25 points and McKinley Tenneyson
>scored 11 goals and had 11 goals and 4 assist for 26 points.
>Hugo Alcarez lead the team with 9 assist. Jake Sagare had his
>best season with the Timbers scoring 4 goals with 1 assist. The
>speed Aaron Heiinzen and Jake Sagare was a big plus for the
>team and they were teammates at the University of Washington.
>Jake won two matches for the Timbers  and his goal against the
>Sounders on 18th of August at PGE Park was the best goal by a
>Timbers this season. Jake had beat three Seattle defenders with
>his speed down the wing and cut to the top of the goal area a
>fired a rocket. This all came with the Timbers playing their 3rd
>game in 4 days and the day before Tie up in Vancouver where
>Jake also scored a goal.
>     General Manager Jim Taylor has said the following players
>are signed to play at least one more season with the Timbers.
>They are defenders Gavin Wilkinson, Lee Morrison, Bryn Ritchie
>and Aaron Heinzen; forward/midfielder Jason Melendez; and
>forward Dan Antoniuk. They will be working on getting Byron
>Alvarez a green card and signing him for three years. Taylor will
>be working on getting keeper Josh Saunders back and trying to
>sign Jake Sagare to a three year deal. If Taylor can get Byron,
>Josh and Jake back next season looks good. There are some
>other changes I would like to see happen to help the team get on
>the right track as the next season starts. One a new coach as in
>Jim Brazeu the current goal keeping coach. Benedetti as an
>assistant coach.
