5 Players were left out tonight after picking up knocks v
Huddersfield. That did not stop the Shaymen from coming away
with a victory

Preseason Match Report
July 24th

1st Half
10 mins Walters shot brought a flying save from new Town
keeper Clint Davies.
15 mins Walters again causing the Town defence major
headaches, cuts in square from the touchline 15 yards inside
the Halifax half. His sublime turn leaves all the Town defence
stargazing, a few paces more and wham, an exocet from 28
yards bottom right, leaving Davies with no chance of getting
anywhere near it 0-1.
18 mins McAuley corner from left finds Monington, header from
deep, lands over the bar.

2nd Half
48 mins Cullen shot saved by Timms low right.
Hockenhull is now having a blinder, stopping most of Bolton's
three interchanging strikers. Anything that looks to be getting
behind him, he clears either to touch or for a corner.
55 mins Good break down the left McAuley cross for Parke,
keeper gets there first, but fouled by Parke.
61 mins GOAL poorly placed backheaded, an unusual error from
the Bolton defence, lets in Farrell at 30 yards with just the keeper
to beat , he has a lot to do, takes it forward, the keeper holds his
ground, young Farrell keeps a cool head, scores with a well
placed shot bottom right. He will be well chuffed with that tonight
1-1.
72 Mins Midgley causing the Bolton defence to cave in, both on
the right and then on the left. Midgely is running riot having a free
reign up front. From the right he crosses to Farrell, who has a
good shot but keeper dives full length to make one handed save.
73 mins GOAL It is all Town now, Midgley on the left crosses to
Cullen who shoots straight away through the middle of the
Bolton defenders, he must have seen something, but the Bolton
goalie saw nought 2-1.

Jon Cullen was voted man of the match.
It was a good all round performance, except Parke who was not
match fit. 5 Players were left out tonight after picking up knocks v
Huddersfield or in training. Quinn, Elam, Killeen, Lee & Nolan.
It is becoming clear what the Manager's team selection will be
come August 9th - it seems to be shaping itself. Perhaps a new
striker will be the final requirement.
