Welcome to the information page for the world famous TACO RIDE. We ride most Thursday nights. We meet around 6:15-6:30pm at the Council Bluffs Wabash Trace Trail head. There are a few of us that pull trailers with coolers so if you bring something to drink we can haul it for you. (no glass please) Half way to Mineola we stop at Margaritaville for a social stop. (a beer or sometimes there might be a blender making a few mixed drinks) This is a great place to meet other bikers that ride the Wabash and you are welcome to stop and join us. Most weeks this takes place around 7:00-7:30 pm. Then we head down to Mineola for margarita's and tacos about 8:00 pm. Every week is like a Ragbrai party back when it was wild before the fun hater started running Ragbrai. We are the worlds largest and longest running weekly bike ride and have had visitors from all around America and a few from around the world come to do this ride. Bicycling Magazine rated this ride as one of the 10 best weekly rides in the world. BRING A LIGHT FOR THE WAY HOME, a coat and gloves during the fall, winter, and spring. We would love to have you join us so stop and say hi at Margaritaville or at the bar in Mineola. During the spring and early summer we do a few road rides to train for Ragbrai if you like road riding or need to train to get in shape. During the winter we send e-mails and ride in Omaha on the Keystone Trail and meet for drinks and food after. The Banned Crawford County Ride is June 21 (See June 21 on bikeiowa.com web page)
Scott's Lua party is going to take place in July before Ragbrai then there will be couple of wine and cheese nights, live bands, team jersey nights and the 500th ride in August 2008. Hope you stop in and say hi. Don't be a fun hater and just ride by MargaritaVille. Stop and join in the fun! Thanks for playing along all these years it's been a lot of fun being out there with you. Dave and I never dreamed this ride would get this big. See you on the trail. Greg
