Hi fellow throwers,
for anybody interested in what knife throwing competitions there were in Russia
in 2009, Alexander Martynov from Moscow wrote a brief report:
http://www.knifethrowing.info/thrower-meeting_russia_2009.html
I'd like to add that the World Championship in Knife Throwing will be held by
the Russian Unifight-club at the beginning of December in Prague.
Have fun,
Christian Thiel
Hello Christian,
Thanks for all the work you did at the throw and for this attached report.
It was good to finally meet up with you as well.
Great memories and great photos, thank you.
Regards,
Little John
P.S. Is there anybody on this list that I haven't told that I won the 7 metre
tomahawk championship at the above throw ?? (LOL LOL )

Hi throwers!
The report on the Big European Throwers Meeting in Villeflambeau in September is
finally online at:
http://www.knifethrowing.info/thrower-meeting_villeflambeau_2009.html
(Pick German, French, Russian or English depending on your preferred language
:-)
As will be evident from the photos, we had tons of fun, and tons of people
there. I'm especially glad having at last met John, Mike and Richard, and
congratulate them on their performance!
Be sure to mark 21/22 of August 2010 in your calender, cause that's when the
European Championship is going to take place in Maniago, Italy. (Yes, the
EuroThrowers club decided for a name upgrade of the Big Throwers Meeting, given
that we're in our tenth year and have pretty much universal support in Europe.)
Have fun throwing,

I somehow misplaced my cheat sheet the night of the Hall of Fame banquet, and
didn't get to share all the info I'd planned to. Since I didn't get to share it
then, I figure I'd go ahead and share it now. :-D
Below is a breakdown of why I nominated Anthony De Longis to be recognized for
the Bronze Lifetime Achievement award.
Anthony had to good fortune to train, choreograph and perform with such
celebrities as Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jet Li, Tom Cruise, Anjelica
Huston, Bo Derek, Placido Domingo, Adrian Paul, Patrick Swayze, etc.
He's been a professional bladed weapons choreographer, practitioner and student
for nearly forty years and counting. If it's got a blade, he can wield it with
authority and knowledge.
His weapons skills include European sabers, broadswords, rapier & dagger and
smallsword, as well as Japanese katana and Filipino double swords and knives.
Anthony's always been fascinated by the art of throwing knives and hawks and
he's thoroughly enjoying further exploration into those skills.
Here's a quick list of the knife-related projects he's been involved with:
LEVERAGE: knife fight w/ series lead Christian Kane
NCIS: trained lead actors to throw knives
ROADHOUSE: knife fight w/ Patrick Swayze
SECONDHAND LIONS: choregraphed and performed knife, saber & scimitar fights
QUEEN OF SWORDS: knife fights (series Stunt Coordinator / Fight Choreographer
THE CHEROKEE KID: trained Sinbad & Burt Reynolds to throw knives & hawks
BATMAN RETURNS: double kris knife fight w/ Batman, trained Michelle Pfeiffer as
Catwoman
WILD BILL: trained Ellen Barkin to throw knives and whips
MIKE HAMMER: knife fights
Los Angeles Opera: choreographed action for 20 years including numerous knife
fights for CARMEN, ROMEO & JULIET, CAPULETS & MONTECCI, etc.
Cold Steel Knife / Hawk & Axe throwing competitor 4 years (variety of
1st/2nd/3rd place finishes)
Demos for Cold Steel Solid Proof, More Solid Proof and Extreme throwing
products.
And on top of all that, he's a really nice hombre'.
Check out his website for more detailed info, and information about his home,
Rancho Indalo, where he trains stunt performers year round.

I'm not sure how many collectors are here but a friend sent a Viet Nam Era
Tru-Bal Bowie Axe with the original sheath along with an Anderson Knife made
from a 1913 Patton Saber and an older and "In Country" made Machete Type knife
to sell for them on Ebay.
I know I have seen a lot of brand new Bowie Axe's sell as Viet Nam Era which I
know were not but this is a Square Butt with a Lanyard Hole and original brown
riveted Bowie Type Sheath, I'll list the Bowie Axe as a Tru-Bal Bowie Axe or if
anyone is interested they can contact me, I haven't gotten pic's of the stuff
yet as we're in the end of a Nor'Easter storm here in PA. and I just got them in
today hopefully I'll get some sun so I can take some pic's tomorrow.

Yesterday, the US Marines celebrate their 233rd birthday. Originally founded on
Nov. 10, 1775, the Marine Corps was composed mainly of infantrymen serving
aboard Navy ships. They were primarily responsible for the security of the ship,
offensive and defensive boarding parties. They also helped protect the ship's
officers from mutiny.
My father served in Korea,
he is 78 years old, and still very much a Marine.
Prayers for the fallen at FT.Hood Tx.
THANK YOU!! to all Vets and to those who are serving now.
Thanks
Brian
