Re: [thrower] SASS

Hello Mike,

That is all great news.

I'm really pleased that your dreams are starting to come true. ( I know it means
a lot to you ) What you are doing can only be helping to perpetuate throwing for
years to come.

Well done.

( Now go and have a lay down... you must be shattered after all you've done and
achieved !! LOL LOL )

Little John

( An inch can make all the difference !!)

Subject: [thrower] SASS

Hi All

I have been away from the computer for over two weeks now and hope I can hit all
the highlights as I am trying to catch up.
Congratulations to Speshul and Vicki for another great throw ( there is a reason
they were the throw of the year last year ) And to Mike Gross for his three
-peet the first time it has ever been done to my knowledge. And of course old
Dog for tearing it up in Creede with unbelievable scores.

Calamty Jane and her couragous attempt to put on a throw in Montana without ever
attending a throw way to go calamity we need more just like you.

The Single Action Shooting Society End of trail was a resounding success for
knife throwing. They want to have the Knife throwing World championships at
their end of trail ranch where they have between 600 and 800 world championships
for single action shooters. Their goal is to have the same things as the WWAC
had and we all enjoyed those. I gave seminars each day and the last one was at 3
p.m. each day and each and every day they threw until dark. Wore my old bones
out . I spoke with the founders and they want me to run the Wolrd Knife
Throwing Championships using our IKTHOF rules for Frontiersman, Conventional and
knife throwing games. The nice thing about it is I do not have to front ,
targets, meals, insurance, backboards, Trophies they handle it all i just show
up and run it. I have also been invited to another 500 to 600 competitor throw
in Phoenix Arizona, they have their winter event in February. There was a
tremendous amount of interest in
knife purchace and knife competition from many, many of the SASS members. This
has been as most of you know a three year process of this dream I have of having
throws with 200 plus competitors. That is how the frontiersman throw came into
being to accomadate both SASS throwers and Re-Enactors. It seems that now it
will come true. I still have not given up on re-enactors where there is a
multitude of potential knife throwers all over the United States.

On a sad not the Great Joe Bowman a Legend of our western arts did his last show
on Saturday with Dan Mink and I. he amazed us all with his gun handling ability.
He had much praise for Dan Mink and his amazing ability in the Cowboy arts and
had some very nice things to say about what I was doing for knife throwing and
the Alamo. We all stood in front of the Wheel of death and had our picturse
taken and with fond farewells to Dan and I , Joe and his wife got into their car
to head for Houston. On one of their stops on the way home Joe went to bed and
passed away during the night. I have no words to describe how I and many
thousands of fans feel but it was a privelage and an honor for me to have been
with him and assisting in his last performance in his storied career as a
Western performer. Alamo

PS
SASS has donated a large sum of money to the Alamo for my seminars at their End
Of Trail. WE ARE NOW WELL OVER 6000.00 in donations for the presevation of the
Alamo. I have most of the costumes purchased for the 15 kids from
southuastinkarate. com who perform at the Alamo the first Saturday of each
month. I will also be writing a check for 1320.00 for insurance for the IKTHOF
throws for the next year any help I can get with this I would appreciate it.
Alamo
