i'll bet you heard some great stories about the 1924-25 teams.
i will always respect mantle,maris yogi and the babe. but i stopped liking thier
players after the 1960s. haven't liked anything about them since. of course the
overall "atmosphere" of the game has changed so much.
and as you can tell by the responses in this group,it's a bit dangerous to
express feelings these days. even if it's all in fun.

I was raised a Senators fan by a father who was raised a Senators fan (some of
his first baseball memories were the Senators in the 24 and 25 World Series) and
I was raised to hate the Yankees - or at least to always root against them. I
was indeed taught that it was part of being a Senators fan. Interestingly,
however, I was never taught to dislike any of the Yankees players and always
liked the individual players - Mantle, Maris, Ford, Berra, Richardson, etc.
