For many years there have been rumors of Yahoo CHARGING for the use of groups.

They seem to indicate that there would always be free
groups, but there would be newer more stringent limits. For instance message
archives, photo archives would be reduced. Message bandwith would be limited.
For many groups it would be devastating.

Yahoo is currently running a "survey". If you have time, it is long maybe 10+
minutes take the survey and let Yahoo know that you are UNWILLING to pay for
this service and you would considering moving your list activity elsewhere if
they implement this.

I assure you this is not a hoax or some chain mail BS.

Also if you belong to other groups, please notify the owners/mods of this issue
and see of they wish to make a similar post or they may certainly just cut and
paste mine.
