The novel I'd like to read abt the Senators?
A good one abt the 1933 Amer. league champion Washington Nationals, who had
among other players that larger-than-life character--lawyer, linguist, scholar,
raconteur, and later, OSS spy--as second- or third-string catcher in the
bullpen, Mr. Morris Moe Berg
Actually, I'm writing a highly-fictionalized novel now abt Berg. I think he's
the most interesting man ever to play major league baseball. And his story
is the reason for my initial request to be directed to a website where I could
see a clear pic of that '33 pennant-winning team
I never did buy the pic of the '33 team advertised on ebay, but I'm still
interested in finding a clear (and not a small or fuzzy) team pic somewhere on
the Net. Anybody know a site?
My name is Charlie Morrison. I'm a graduate student at
George Mason University, studying professional writing
and editing. I need some help with a project I've just
undertaken. I'm going to try to write a historical
fiction story based on some facet of the real history
of the Washington Senators. Its going to be an
original writing, but it has to be based on concrete
historical fact. I'm trying to figure out what moment
during the Senators' history would be the most
interesting to write about. I've thought about either
when Clark Griffith was debating whether to integrate,
while faced with struggling attendance in the
post-Depression era. Or possible the moment Calvin
Griffith finally moved the team. Either way I'm, at
this point, fairly ignorant about the team's history.
I'm interested in possibly talking to some folks
who've spent time in Griffith Stadium as I'm going to
write the story using as many authentic sights and
sounds of Griffith Stadium as I can. Any help you can provide is
greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Charlie Morrison
