Hi Chris,
I am still a fan of the team, as I was just having a bit of fun with this, as I
wrote to some friends that we should bring back Manny, which reminded me of this
song.
Yes, I was 17, ohh ohh, that reminds me of a Beatle song, when the Senators left
town and Frank Howard belong to the same swimming pool as I did in Aspen Hill,
MD. (North of Wheaton).
At least we do not have Cubs Choke Cubs on youtube. Poor Steve Goodman, RIP
who wrote Go Cubs Go.
Mike

Michael and Linda,
At least the Nats have us all talking about them. I have remain continuely
amazed at the ways they find to lose games. I do believe that one pitch made
the difference in all of the Cubs games. You could see them deflate each game
after one critical miscue.
As per your song. Encore, encore! Let's put those creative forces to work
for more Natification of songs.
Thanks,
Chris
P.S. We endured our lovable Senators through many a hard time, maybe these
guys will capture our loyalties and give us something to get excited about
again. Keep the faith!

I butchered the below song with new words below in reference to our Nationals
woes.
Just a bit of fun, as things will turn around, someday and I still will go to
more games this year.
Mike
Oringal song, before I butcher it.

My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
my Bonnie lies over the sea,
My Bonnie lies over the ocean,
O bring back my Bonnie to me.
Chorus:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me, to me:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Bonnie to me.
O blow ye winds over the ocean,
O blow ye winds over the sea.
O blow ye winds over the ocean,
And bring back my Bonnie to me.
Repeat chorus
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
I dreamed that my Bonnie was dead.
Repeat chorus
The winds have blown over the ocean,
The winds have blown over the sea,
The winds have blown over the ocean,
And brought back my Bonnie to me.
Repeat chorus
My Bonnie leaned over the gas tank,
The height of its contents to see,
I lit a small match to assist her,
O Bring back my Bonnie to me.
Repeat chorus
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
I stuck my feet out of the window,
In the morning the neighbors were dead.
Repeat chorus
My mother makes beer in the bathtub,
My father makes synthetic gin,
My sister makes fudge for a quarter,
Wouldja believe how the money rolls in?
Repeat chorus
My mother, she drowned in the bathtub,
My father, he died from his gin,
My sister choked on her chocolate,
My stars, what a fix I am in.
Repeat chorus
I tried making beer in the bathtub,
I tried making synthetic gin,
I tried making fudge for a living,
Now look at the shape that I'm in.
My Nationals Lie Over the Field
My Nationals Lie over the field,
Repeat,
Repeat,
O bring back my Nationals to me.
Chorus:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Nationals to me, to me:
Bring back, bring back, O bring back my Nationals to me.
O blow ye winds over the Outfield,
O blow ye winds over the Infield.
O blow ye winds over the Outfield,
And bring back my Nationals to me.
Repeat chorus
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
I dreamed that my Nationals where Alive.
Repeat chorus
The winds have blown over the Outfield,
The winds have blown over the Outfield,
And brought back my Nationals to me.
Repeat chorus
My Nationals leaned over homeplate,
The height of its contents to see,
I lit a small scorecard to assist them,
O Bring back my Nationals to me.
Repeat chorus
Last night as I lay on my pillow,
Last night as I lay on my bed,
I stuck my feet out of the chair,
In the morning the neighbors were dead.
Repeat chorus
My mother makes baseballs in the bathtub,
My father makes bats,
My sister makes steroids for a quarter,
Wouldja believe how the money rolls in?
Repeat chorus
My mother, she drowned in the bathtub,
My father, he died from his bat,
My sister choked on her steroids,
My stars, what a fix I am in.
Repeat chorus
I tried making National beer in the bathtub,
I tried making Aluminum bats,
I tried making steroids for a living,
Now look at the shape that I'm in.
