Hi All:
As some of you may know, I am a Senators fan second behind my love of my
hometown Browns (though I was not even a twinkle in my Father's eye when the
Brownies moved to BAL). I am on the board of the St. Louis Browns Historical
Society.
We are having a luncheon 4/28 in St. Louis at the Misoouri Athletic Club
honoring the last two surviving members of the 1944 team ... the only Browns
pennant. But, as usual, all living Browns will be invited to return for this
event.
Two Senators of note are confirmed speakers: Al Lamacchia and Roy Sievers.
This will be Lamacchia's first visit ever to a Browns reunion and he is
chock-full of stories from his EIGHT Decades in baseball. (Just talked to him
this morning.
So, if you can make the trip, please do. These banquets are special times where
you go from laughing to crying and back again in mere minutes. All
nostalgia-oriented baseball fans will enjoy it. We've never had to refund
anybody's money in the 25-years of our fan club's existence.
