Thanks so much for the additional information! I realize that the rigors of
being a catcher would be especially tough on someone at the 40+ age mark.

Deveaux's book has been on my "want" list for some time but in the interest
of domestic harmony I haven't pursued it too hard.

... Emmett, A cursory check through the 1947 team, and then a cross check with the 1947 team roster at http://www.Baseball-Almanac.com reveals 5 players still...
