Folks,

I'd been refraining from bringing this up, however, Emmett's question about
living Senators from the 1944, 1945 or 1947 Washington Senators teams prompted
me to write this.

Some of you may be familiar with a website called "Baseball-Fever". Since
April of last year I have been working on a thread titled "This Date In
Washington Senators History".

I've made no distinction between the original (1901-1960) and expansion
(1961-1971) franchises but have been attempting to chronicle the history of the
team on a day to day basis. This includes trying to cover EVERY player who has
ever worn a Senators uniform. It has taken a lot of time and effort. For a while
I was being assisted by another poster who used the screen name "Steve Jeltz", a
Philadelphia Phillie player of questionable talent. Unfortunately Steve Jeltz
disappeared from the board sometime in November and I've been carrying on alone.

If you'd be interested in perusing the thread you can find it at:

http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?t=76030

This is in no way intended to detract from the Washington Senators Yahoo
Group (Which I have enjoyed immensely since I became a member here.) or to try
to "steal" members-however I thought that some of you may enjoy reading about
some of the many forgotten players who have worn the uniform of both the
original and expansion Senators from 1901 through 1971.

The thread is still "a work in progress" which I hope to complete by the
end of April. In the interim, your comments, suggestions and criticisms are
welcome.

Eventually I hope to develop a spread sheet with all Senators players, the
years played and focus on those that are still living.
