Tim, I think that would be a great idea and, of course, my vote would
go for Mickey Vernon to do the honors. He was a 4 decade player and
played with the "old" Senators and managed the "new" team. Mickey, now
84, still resides near his home town,Marcus Hook, PA and is a true
gentleman in every sense of the word. He now lives alone in a
retirement center and has had some rough moments since his wife died two
years ago, but he never complains and he has many very loyal friends who
morally support him. For years many of his friends and fans have
lobbied for his induction into the HOF, because he is most deserving
especially when you look at the stats of many who are in the Hall
compared to his. I stray from your thoughts, but I take every
opportunity I can to lobby for my friend. Thanks, Arch

SenatorsDoes anyone know if there is going to be any kind of closing
ceremony for RFK? In this case, I'd like to steal a page from Baltimore
and modify it. Remember when tehy tookl home plate from Memorial
Stadium, flew it by helicopter to Camden Yards, and planted it there? We
could do something similar, but this being Washington, we'd use a
stretch limo and have it "escorted" by a player representing the
original Senators (Killebrew or Vernon?), one repesenting the expansion
Senators (Hondo?), and one representing the current Nationals
(presumably Ryan Zimmerman.) What do you think?
