Asafa has problems on the big stage but that will be corrected.
Injuries caused Asafa to peak late so he wasn't at his very best in
Osaka. A healthy, often raced Asafa will be in serious contention next
year. The pressure is on Tyson. That was the FIRST time he ever beat
Asafa..... next year, Asafa will race Tyson during the year and will be
acustom to competing against him...something he could not do this year
due to injury/ financial issues. Trust me, we could see a repeat of 06
next year when Asafa was beating him regularly....that being the case,
he'd have more confidence against him on the big stage.
I disagree, Asafa can run as fast as he wants to with people he knows
he can beat but when it comes the big show he chokes. He's a choker.
Or he's dippin in the medicine cabinet. Tyson has the better top
end speed and will brake the that world record soon enough, 9.74 will
not stand. OH and there will be no Gold for Asafa unless Tyson or
someone else who can run 9.8 isn't in the race.

Slaying the Dragon: How to Turn Your Small Steps to Great Feats (by Michael

Michael Johnson stunned the world in the 1996 Olympics when he achieved what
no other runner has ever accomplished, capturing two gold medals in the
200-meter and the 400-meter races and shattering the previous world record set
in the 200 his own record by a staggering margin. Arms pumping, back straight in
his unique running style, gold shoes flashing, it looked to the world as if
Johnson had reached the pinnacle of his profession, as if he owned those races.
Except for the stumble out of the blocks. For while Johnson knew what the world
knew that he was the fastest man alive he also knew that there were still
mountains to conquer. How much faster could he have gone without the stumble?
"After you have stared long enough into the dragon's eyes, there is nothing
left to do but slay the dragon. For each of us, that dragon is the thing closest
to the center of our lives. It is our core, our ambition and our joy. For me, it
is the perfect race."
In Slaying the Dragon: How to Turn Your Small Steps to Great Feats, Michael
Johnson shares his secrets on how to identify your own dragon, your own fears
and goals and how to apply his winning techniques to your personal and
professional life. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition

I dont see the list
Man, I hear you with a lot going on. I've been married now for a year
and a half and it was hectic that whole year going into it (my girl
wanted to do it big) and life is a lot different now. I'm tryin' to
break into acting....why not since I'm out here in L.A?.. Good luck at
the combine. I tried to break into the league a while back but it
didn't work out. It's all good. Do your thing, homie and congrats on
the marriage and the daughter on the way. Thanks for being the only
one (myself included) that consistently holds it down up in here. Keep
us posted on the combine. Holla!
Well, I havent even been training like I need to. I have been busy
trying to finish school and I've had a lot going on (marriage & a
daughter on the way) but I still ran a 10.4 the other day. I'm also
trying to get ready for this combine in May. If I get out there and run
under 4.35 I'm sure someone is gonna sign me. What you been up to?

Jesse Owens was one of the greatest sports legends of all time. His 4 gold
medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics made history -- and shamed the Nazi party and
their repulsive theories of a 'master race'. Despite his achievements at the
Olympics, Owens still struggled with racism at home; "I wasn't invited to shake
hands with Hitler, but I wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with
the President ,either".
Variety has announced that Milkshake Films (Goal) have signed Anthony Mackie
(Freedomland) to portray Owens in the upcoming biopic Jesse: The True Story of
J.C Owens. A director hasn't been chosen yet to shoot the James L. White (Ray)
script, but Milkshake Films is expected to announce a director soon.

Does anyone here think someone other than Asafa Powell will win next
year? To me, he's the overwhelming favorite. Who do you think can
possibly pull off the upset?
10 sub 10's.....5 sub 9.90's including 2 9.77's (WR)!!! Undefeated.
Dang, I thought Ato's 1998 season was the goods!! Non-championships
season, that is. Asafa is poised to take it all next year. Count on
it.
He won the Jamaican Championships 200m with his first sub 20
clocking. Between that and the 9.77 he dropped earlier this year,
Asafa is lookin' to bumrush that WR!! I'm still waitin' on 9.75!
i think so too

gonna drop an 9.75 sometime in June
