I guess I'll broaden my answer and throw in Sam Cassell as well.
The Wolves point guard situation is the second biggest mess they
have right now (behind who do they play behind Garnett at PF and
Center)
1.) Sam shoots too much and can't play defense. He dominates the
ball, which stifles Wally's production and causes stretches where
the team stands around too much (Call it the Allan Iverson effect).
Wally shoots 50%, we all know that. Wally needs a starting point
guard (if Wally stays on the Wolves and they don't trade him) that
runs the floor well, distributes first, and shoots second. That
cleans up all the questions about who gets shots and who doesn't on
this team. Boiled down to basics, define everyones roles and find
the players to fit those roles.
2.) Passing isn't THud's strength either. THud is best suited for a
6th man scoring role if Wally is starting AND if Huddy's completely
healthy. When he's on the floor, I'd space Huddy and Fred on the
wings to open the floor inside and create slashing lanes. Ebi (if he
is the real deal) would be a nice fit with that group because he
does move the ball and he looks like he'll be active on both ends of
the floor. Last year, Huddy wasn't much better defensively than Sam
(who is god awful) and he wasn't particularly effective shooting the
ball.
I will say this about THud. His career (and his fat contract) were
based on the Laker series a few years back. What was the Lakers
strategy in that playoff series? Stop Wally. Period. They over
played Wally's side of the floor and ran two guys at Szczerbiak on
defense so he couldn't catch and shoot or dribble to give himself
space to shoot. That left THud wide open a good deal of the time.
That's why Huddy was able to score the way he did in that series.
3.) I'm not sure if Ebi isn't a complete mirage. End of year games
don't matter.....guys are playing on tired legs.....and a young
fella comes in with something to prove.....hard to say what he is or
isn't, other than he'll be a small forward for sure if he does play.
4.) Personally, I'd like to see the Wolves draft an athletic power
forward who can run, defend in the post, and rebound. That's there
biggest need besides PG and one they can address in the draft based
on who's available and draft depth.

KG, without him in the line up or the roster, I believe all chances
of the playoffs/championship are gone. Hoiberg, great role player,
and well looked up to and role model. Hassel, great defenseive
player, and last year came into his own with scoring, I believe he
can only go up from last year. I would have to say I was impressed
with Ebi, even though he only played a few games and it was at the
end of the season when all was lost, but he showed hussel and
determination. With KG taking him under his wing, I hope that he
will flurish into the player that the Wolves are looking forward
to. One area that the wolves are definitly lacking in is the center
position. But in the NBA, the market is very slim for outstanding
centers.

would be teh best match up with him, for a 1, 2 punch on offense and
defense?
