Hello,

First a little about myself as i have just joined this group.

I am a English Nascar fan, but have travelled to many Cup and Busch
races whilst on my holidays. These includes 1994 Brickyard, 1996
Busch Clash and Daytona 500, 1997 Coke Cola 600 and Winston, 1999,
2000, 2002, and 2004 Bristol night races.

I also attend other racing events and have attended Sebring 12 Hours
for the last 4 years and also been to IRL and Craftsman trucks at
Texas, followed by Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in 2003.

I have joined the group because i am hoping that a few people my be
able to answer some questions that i have regarding Talladega.

It looks a good possibility that i may be able to afford a trip to
the US in September, the plan being to attend Petit Le Mans at Road
Atlanta, and then after the race finishes on Saturday night, drive
across to Talladega to watch the cup race on the Sunday.

Talladega is one race i have always wanted to go to and the fact
that they share the same weekend of the year, don't actually clash
as one is Saturday and the other Sunday, and they are only about a 3
hour drive apart. Then it is too good an opportunity to pass up on.

So my questions.

Firstly, would i have any problems arriving by car at approx 3 am on
race day, parking up and then getting a few hours sleep in the car.
Can i park at the speedway at that time of the morning ?

I assume that some infield campers stay over on Sunday and travel
home on the Monday morning ? If so, then do the security on the gate
still police the infield access after the race has finished. Or
would i be able to sneak in and pitch my tent for the night and thus
use the infield facilities. This would save me alot of hassle rather
than driving back to Atlanta and having to look for a hotel.

And the big question. I have been looking at what seat options are
available online. Basically, they are offering most of the lower
tier front stretch grandstands $70 or the Anniston Tower, Lincoln
Tower or the Gadsden Tower seats at $115. So what is the view like
from these seats. What sort of view do you get of the back stretch
from the lower tier seats or do i need a tower seat to see the back
stretch ? I fancy sitting somewhere near the start finish line, so
what is the view like from the lower tier grand stands in that
general area.
