Re: [The Mystics' Fans Are The Best] Zane Teilane

Here's what Bill Laimbeer, Shock Coach, just said:

ALL SHOCK players cheered when I announced that Z had been picked up. Very
nice kid, hard worker, and will be a decent WNBA player in the future.
Casualty of cap space here in Shockland.

I think Linda gets lots of credit for all of her moves prior to this season. I
think Zane is worth a shot, especially since we have Tree to work with her. Also
the DMJ, Tot combo is very strong at the place Ayisha would have played. I like
taking the chance on a 6'7" kid when no one really knows if she can play or not
at this level. Some folks are saying Bill Laimbeer just drafted her to keep CT
from getting her and they are so strong in the post, Zane could be developing
and still get cut by the Shock who really needed a guard.

So I say, way to go Linda!

The janitor did find some notes lying around the 9th street offices.
What he saw said that Smith was a good, known quantity, and what you
was is all you were going to get - pretty good, not great, not going to
improve beyond that. Zane Theilane is a "project". Is she develops
she'll be a tremendous asset. But they recognize she may not develop
into anything better. Took the risk on the potential upside, but
realize she may not work out.
