As most of the Mystics are showing their skills overseas this winter,
women's basketball is heating up on this side of the globe. Three
Mystics players are getting ready to start their National Women's
Basketball League play for teams here in the U.S., and from early
indications, the Mystics are going to make a big impact.
Returning to the Birmingham Power, Coco Miller will begin play where
she honed her Most Improved Player skills last season, along side her
sister Kelly. The two will play a 21 game season in the NWBL
beginning February 11th and ending in mid-April.
And in a 1-2 punch, two Mystics joined the Tennessee Fury for their
inaugural season in the league. Tonya Washington and Kiesha Brown are
already making an impact in Tennessee after Washington hit a last-
second three pointer to defeat Sue Bird and the Springfield Spirit in
an exhibition game earlier this week.
