media:<br><br>Saturday, June 2, 2001<br><br>MAGIC OBTAIN FUTURE
CONDITIONAL<br>FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICK; MOVE UP IN NBA DRAFT<br><br>Orlando,
Fla. - Orlando Magic General Manager John Gabriel
announced two transactions on Saturday.<br><br>1)The
Orlando Magic obtained a future conditional first-round
draft pick from Detroit for deferring its notification
to Phoenix on whether the Magic will accept the
Suns' first-round draft pick this year (No. 18) or
decline until next year. <br><br>2)After the notification
deadline expired (3 a.m., June 2), Orlando exercised its
option to receive Phoenix's first-round 2001 draft pick
(No. 18) which is automatically conveyed from the
Magic to the Houston Rockets. <br><br>In return,
Houston agreed to give its No. 22 first-round pick to
Orlando for the No. 23 pick in this year's NBA
Draft<br><br>Orlando will now select No. 15 and No. 22 in the upcoming
NBA Draft (June 27). <br><br>The conditional pick
obtained from Detroit was originally Orlando's obligation
to Toronto (Tracy McGrady deal) which was conveyed
to the Pistons in the Jerome Williams
deal.<br><br>RDV Sports, named for chairman Rich DeVos, is the
