Hello Green Stampede Fans,

The Green Stampede ended its 9th season of tutoring with the Oakland A's.  Our
final session culminated with a visit from Shortstop Cliff Pennington.  Special
thanks to all of the students and tutors; especially Alejandre Leon, Joshua
Nervous, Joey Hernandez, and Mellisa Williams.  Thanks also to Detra Paige and
Warren Chu in the A's Community Relations Department for making the tutoring
sessions possible.  Look for the Green Stampede Homework Club to be back next
year for its 10th straight season!

HAUNTED HOUSE

For third time, the haunted house project will be at the Theta Delta Chi
Fraternity House in Berkeley on Thursday October 29, 2009 at 2647 Durant Avenue
in Berkeley.  There will be a planning meeting at the house next Sunday, October
18 at 8 PM.  All are encouraged to attend.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

The Green Stampede will also be co-hosting our annual Halloween Party (for those
21 and over) at Club Bijou in Hayward on October 30.  More information will be
coming.

Great win by the A's tonight!  Emile Brown has been an exciting
addition to the A's and another solid performance by the A's starting
pitching.  On the Green Stampede front, the tutoring program has
enjoyed some of its largest classes of students in Stampede history!
Tonight a smaller group came for tutoring, but it was just as vocal
(even though it was very cold this evening).  Our next tutoring
session is tomorrow May 6 from 4:30-6:30 and then the game to follow.

DRAKES EVENT MAY 15

The event at Drakes is finally coming to fruition.  All proceeds will
benefit Oakland Schools.  Tax deductable contributions can be made
via The Green Stampede.  The event will be held from 4-7 PM at Drakes
Brewery in San Leandro and will include beverages and BBQ.  Check out

TAILGATE PARTY JUNE 12

Our first official tailgate party will be Thursday June 12 versus the
New York Yankees.  This is also the last day for the Oakland Public
Schools so plenty of relieved teachers will also be on hand.  More
