SPECIAL THANKS
Special thanks to webmaster Alex Heuer for his work on the website
this last year. It is a very thankless job and we greatly appreciate
all of his hard work. The web site duties will be turned over to Ray
Hazel (Chef's Assistant to Chef Boyardean) and we will be contracting
some outside work to our friend Ryan of ALAMEDA MAGAZINE. Ray is
updating the site with the new and improved Green Stampede site to
launch next month. If you have any pictures from events last year,
especially the Halloween Party and/or tutoring program, please email
them in jpeg format to:

WORLDWIDE A'S FANS
For the third year in row we are trying to build our world-wide
network of A's fans. If you are an A's fan that lives outside of the
Bay Area or if you know of some A's fans who do, we want to build a
fan network throughout the country. I have always sent emails about
and cajoled and coerced friends and family about it, but the third
time is the charm.
The new and improved Green Stampede site will have a map of the world
with locations highlighted for our different fan affiliates. A's
fans in those locations could go to The Green Stampede site, find a
location nearest to them, and contact our A's Fan/Green
Stampede "representative" in that location. The idea is that there
would be a link for A's talk with the possibility of watching/going
to an A's game in that location. For example, A's fan and friend of
the Green Stampede Karel Blaha lives in Prague, Czech Republic. If
there were any A's fans in Europe, they could contact Karel and watch
a game together or at least know that there were other fans in the
same area. Two years ago, Green Stampede Board Members Keith and
Rodney Brown hooked up with our "Seattle Affiliate" and watched a
game together.
My problem is that I haven't effectively established the network and
maintained contact with our bases. Last year, our good friend Arlene
tried to coordinate, but got a new job and couldn't continue. This
year, Publicity Director Nikki King is taking over the job. Please
send her an email:
nicolak979@... or send me an email:
chris@greenstampede to confirm your interest or to sign up your
location. As a small token of thanks, we will send you a free 2005
Green Stampede shirt as well as a few brochures and other
information. All we need from you is an email address, a little bit
of information about yourself, and/or a picture. Thank you
tremendously. The Black Hole Raider Fan Club has incorporated a
similiar model which has increased support worldwide. We want to do
the same with our Oakland A's.
CONGRATULATIONS
Finally, congratulations to Stampeders Kim and James Salazar on the
birth of their new son, Joseph, last Friday. "Sal" was a big fan of
former A's second baseman #9 Mike Gallego. Last year the A's retired
Reggie Jackson's #9 (as opposed to his more famous #44 in NY). My
question is when Joseph goes out for little league and wears #9 will
it be for Reggie or Mike Gallego????
Have a great week and Go A's!
