Thanks to all who should up last night to the Annual Green Stampede
Board Meeting. There were over 40 Stampeders in attendence, even on
a rainy night in Oakland. People were definitely ready to get down
to business and kick-off another great season. Chef Boyardean and
Vice President James Lee characterized this season as a "Year of
Opportunity" and New Publicity Chairperson Nikki King is launching a
bi-monthly newsletter, similiar to the A's Boosters Club, in order to
keep all of our fans informed.

Special Thanks to our Outgoing Board of Directors Jennifer Lee,
Carlos Reynoso, and Ken Stickney. Your work in pioneering The Green
Stampede was extraordinary and we wish you well in your further
endeavors. Ken, however, will stay on as Treasurer.

Also, a tremendous welcome to our three newest members: Kristin
(Fortenberry) Smith, Melissa Fortenberry, and Ygnacio Becerra. The
Green Stampede is very lucky to have all three members in a new
official capacity. Kristin is finishing her third year at Hastings
Law School and has been a tremendous help in the past. Her twin
sister Melissa is an Oakland teacher at Castlemont High School and
will be coordinating the tutoring program again. Ygnacio (Nacho), is
the current Student Body President at Chabot College in Hayward who
is a long-time Oakland advocate. The three will join the continuing
board of Keith Brown, Claudia Moreno, Vice President James Lee, and
yours truly, Chris Dobbins.

The Green Stampede would also like to welcome our new secretary
Barbara (Carroll) Henry. Barbara has also been a long-time Oakland
advocate and will help The Green Stampede Board to get organized.
Thanks to everyone else's support and future messages will highlight
other leaders in The Green Stampede.

Special thanks to the local Heavy Metal influenced band "Sever" who
will also be joining the Green Stampede this year. In combination
with Liquid Sound DJ's, they will give a free concert at our first
tailgate party on April 13.

Don't Forget our Next Green Stampede Event, our annual St. Patrick's
Day Party on March 12

Thanks to all and have a great Weekend.

GO A's!!!
