Hello Everyone,
Great news on the A's front. Our team took 2 out of 3 over the
weekend from the first place Rangers and there is finally promise
that a new stadium may be built in Oakland in order to keep the A's
there. While there is much work to be done, and A's ownership has
only said that they will put in $100 million (about 25%), this is the
first time that ownership has said that they are willing to put up
anything and are making a serious committment to stay in Oakland.
On The Green Stampede Front, the fall tutoring session will begin on
August 10, 2004. All interested tutors and students should send an
email to chris@... in order to register or to request
an application.
GENERAL MEETING
The Green Stampede is hosting an important meeting next Wednesday
August 4, 2004 at 7:00 PM at St. Paschal's Gym in Oakland. The
subjects of the meeting will be preparing for the Haunted
House/Halloween Dance and planning for the upcoming tutoring
sessions. Please be on time and refreshments will be served.
SOFTBALL GAMES
The Green Stampede softball team will play a tune-up match against
their Right Field rivals on Monday August 9 at 6 PM at St. Paschal's
Diamond. The tune-up will be for the August 21 rematch of the 2nd
Annual Left Field-Right Field Bleachers Fans Softball Game. Last
year, the left field fans squeeked out a narrow victory, but this
time we are looking for revenge. The game will be at noon on Saturday
at a location to be announced.
TAILGATE PARTY
The next tailgate party will be on Wednesday August 25 versus Miguel
Tejada and the Baltimore Orioles. Don't miss out on the fun and
excitement.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
