Hi Everyone,
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tracey and I am a DIE HARD LEAF
FAN. Please don't hold that against me for those groups that aren't Leaf groups
lol.

The reason I'm sending out this email is to bring to your attention an issue
that we have in our city, concerning our hockey team.

For the last 13 years we have hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs farm team. We have
taken A LOT of crap from the Leafs organization, we haven't iced much of a team
the last few years, however the fans here in St. John's have continuted to show
their support for the Leafs Farm Team.

As I'm sure you all know, a few years ago, John Ferguson Jr. and Richard Peddie
took over running Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment and the Leafs
organization and since then, they have seemed to have a bit of a vendetta
against our great city!! They have tried many ways to get the team out of here,
and they've finally succeded. Unfortunatly, the Edmonton Oilers Farm team
failed in Toronto (which was expected) and that leaves an empty arena for the
Baby Buds to play in, in Toronto.

Sure some of you may think, wouldn't that be better? have the farm team closer
to home? but no it's not. With the Baby Leafs here in St. John's, they've been
seperated from the hoopla around the hockey world in Toronto and haven't been
prematurely thrown into a world they weren't ready for. The opportunity these
players have had, playing here has lasted them their whole careers. Over the
last 13 years we've developed many players who are currently playing
professional hockey, for the Leafs and in other organizations and aside from a
few guys I haven't heard a bad thing said about this place from anyone. There
are MANY players who REQUEST to play here!! Who are thrilled when they get
their schedule and find out they're playing in St. John's a few times during the
season.

The deal has been made and the Baby Leafs WILL be leaving St. John's after the
upcoming season. Myself and another die hard fan put out a petition when the
rumours first started floating and although we won't be able to stop Toronto
from taking the team out of here, I am asking for your help to PROVE RICHARD
PEDDIE and everyone else at Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment wrong.

We will be sending this petition to the heads in the Leafs organization with the
hope that maybe they'll look at it and be able to say, 'hey we made a mistake'.
In a few years from now when the Leafs next franchise fails (which it will, the
Leafs already have 2 failed Farm franchises under their belt, St. John's has
been their most successful) I want them to find this petition and have it bite
them in the ass!!
