While I'm old enough to concede that sometimes the mind isn't what it used to
be, I continue to defend Pinella- at least most of the time. Fox doesn't really
have a position. Lou was trying to shake things up, and I can't blame him for
that.
I read a Hendry quote yesterday, though, that really demoralized me. "We have a
pretty good team, " he said. "We don't really have to make many changes."
That he could reach that conclusion in the middle of a season like this, after
having been swept out of the playoffs in the first round two years running,
pretty much says it all, IMHO.
