Corey Patterson

Anyone else bothered by how non-selective Corey has been at
the plate lately? I think he has looked just terrible.

The ultimate was an at bat in the last couple nights where a
reliever came in during the middle of Todd Walker's at bat, I
think, threw three straight balls (walking him) including a run-
scoring wild pitch.

So despite the fact that the pitcher so far can't find the plate
without a guided tour, up comes Patterson, who swings at the
first pitch (a fastball up around the shoulders) and turns "Ball
one" into an inning ending double play.

(Santo has been yelling "Jeez!" a lot with Patterson at bat.)

Is it time to move Patterson down to 7th again while he sorts this
out? It seemed to work with him before. Gonzo could probably
handle the 2nd slot for at least a short time the way he's been
going recently.

... this ... I totally agree with you on Patterson. Trading our starting pitchers wouldn't make sense though. We have a good enough core of guys to make a run...

I was sorry to see Hawkins go. He is not, and never has been, a closer. It's a shame that Dusty couldn't let him fill the role he'd been so successful in at...

I guess nobody gets it yet. If a player does bad w/ the Cubs, as soon as he leaves...he does well w/ another. If a player does well w/ another team and then...
