Celts,
Please see below for details on Saturday's festivities from Sieve.
Tournament is now from 1.30 to 3.30, with a 5.30 start in Carnegies.
All times are approximate! So far confirmed are;

Hoff
Andy
Morgan
Pete
Lar

Any other takers?

Greetings Athletes,

Next Saturday, August 5th, will be the Gift¡¦s formal farewell ¡V a 7-
a-side tournament at Yang Ming High School followed by food and
drinks at Carnegie¡¦s. Duncan has put in so much to this club over
the years, so if you¡¦re in town, make sure you turn out on Saturday
and give Duncan a cracking sending off!

Football will start at 13:30 and finish around 15:30. We will split
into teams of seven and will be joined by the Celts, the Lions and of
course Shane. Craig will send out further details tomorrow.

Jason, who is also leaving next week, has generously offered to
provide enough (??) beer for the tournament, but as Duncan always
hypocritically notes, ¡¥Football and drink do not mix well in these
high temperatures, and it is not condoned in any way, shape or
fashion by the Club¡¦.

Details of the bash at Carnegie¡¦s ¡V starting at 5:30 ¡V are below;
please pass on to any friends of Dunc and Sheena that are not on this
list, and bring your better halves, too.

Finally, it would really help with planning numbers if you could send
me a very quick reply letting me know you¡¦re coming and with how
many.

Cheers,

The Sieve

What kind of 'high spirits' are we talking about? Tequilla, whiskey or was it the fact that you drank 3-cans of Taiwan PiJiu in 3-mins outside the 7-11?? Ah ha!! And you thought Alex Ferguson had a close network of spies!! The Celts higher order is all knowing, all seeing...................

You should know better Mr Wunder Knabe, if that truly is your real name?

And by the way there's 14 David's that play for the Celts? Who are you apologising to anyway?? Hoff, Maddser, David that comes to training with Kev K??

By order of the Celts FC Kangaroo Court, where Aussie Crocodile Craig rules all (I know you're really Aussie Craig. Don't give me that SA crap....) the only way for you to make it up to David, The Celts FC and society in general is to set Mick up for 3 two yard tap-ins against The Lions thereby giving him the Golden Boot which is rightfully his anyway as Kev scored 4 goals from headers (and two from pennos!)

When we start giving out Golden Head (now is'nt that an award everyone would kill to win!!) then it's all yours Der Rot Afro!!!!

I want to publically apologise to David for throwing him in the pool on
Saturday, and acting the idiot. I beleive he didn't hear my apologies,
so I offer it now. I am truly sorry for this shocking incident, in no
way did I mean to upset or embarass you, it was only high spirits,
which then wasn't very funny at all.....

Hi guys,

First of all I want to thank all of you for your mails and wishes. It
helps a lot to know that there are people on your side in such moments.

I am now already on my way back and will be in Taiwan by tomorow.
Looking forward to get some traing again.

Most important point: Congratiulations for the 1:1 agains the leader.
Well done Celts! Now keep up the good work, get the points from the
lions and finish as 3rd and also end the Lions and their chance for
the title.

Looking forward to see you guys again. Need something to keep my mind
buzy at the moment....

Great work Dylan,

Ben, you're sacked as official Celts photographer.

After those pics I think all of the TPL will agree that while we may not be top of the league this year in terms of football we are in a league of our own when it comes to goddamn handsomeness!!
AND dodgey barnets especially that blonde matinee idol at the back!!

Morgan,

Get that razor out for the Lions............

Hi Lar,

Maybe David told you already, I am on the way to Austria out of some not so nice reasons. I will be away for about 1 week at least and have no idea how everything will run.
Still, if I am back than in Taiwan and you guys still want me to play and I manage to have time I would love to join you on this.
Sorry that I cant give you a 100% clear answer at the moment.

Just ask Dave for the details.

Kind Regards, Michael

Celts,

I had a call from Sieve, the keeper from the B52's, last week. He told me Duncan is leaving Taiwan next month and as a testimonial to the great man, the B52's are organising a 6-a-side comp at their old ground - YangMing High School in Shilin. This is fixed for Saturday afternoon, Aug 5th with a do in Carnegies afterwards from 5.30 to 10. This will not be a serious competition. There will be lots of porter at the pitch and even more in Carnegies. We have our last game of the season against the Lions the following morning at 10.15. If you can't make it to Taipei on Sat 5th and Sun 6th, that's understandable. We'll obviously need more players for the TPL2 game. However, we should still have enough for a team for a 6-a-side runout on the Saturday. Please let me know by the end of the week if you're up for playing the 6-a-side and also if you're planning to go on to Carnegies after.

Don't worry Dylan, this tournament on Aug5th will be what football at amateur level is REALLY all about - excercise, having a good time and plenty of light refreshments!

And for the record that was the first time EVER we had 21 players out for a game so if anyone is thinking 'ah bollix, I'm never going to get much playing time' remember there was only 12 out the game before!! Everyone is welcome to come to every game. There's no promise that you'll get 80mins of playing time but don't be put off!!!

I would be able to make it to both games, though I am not sure how much you would actually need me.  I am sure there would be many people there better than me.  I am just enjoying playing as much as possible.  If you did need me I would probably also go to Carnegies as well.

this isn't like a real election when you can use the
excuse... "but i'm too uninformed and lazy!" so get
your votes in! and hurry up about it.

i hear from rachel that the prizes are amazing!

Three Stars
It was a dismal team display starting with poor numbers but there
were some strong individual performances. And here they are:

1st Star – Johnny G. - 5 votes for 23% - Studly defending is all
that needs to be said. (I'd like to add that great faith and
dedication to the cause was shown when Johnny fired his glasses to
the sideline from a quarter mile away at the Taipan's request.
Johnny the man must have known there was very little chance he'd
ever see those glasses again… we'd be able to see them, of course.)

2nd Star – Steve "Happy Cat" Murphy – 4 votes for 19% - His play
brought to my mind the classic quote by Buford 'Mad Dog'
Tannen "I'll hunt you down and shoot you like a duck!" Well said.

3rd Star – Just Mike (not Mic or Michael) – 3 votes for 14% -
Magically appeared out of nowhere to save our asses and gave us a
fighting chance with a key goal (assist to Andy). Then he vanished,
never to be seen again!

Golden Donkey
The stats machine is annoyed that you people just don't listen! But
clearly you felt that the people who said they'd be there but
weren't, were the asses of the day. You know who you are… and
you're not Morgan!

Highlight
A tie – between the boys who bailed us out and who out played most
of the regular Celts (not sure if that is true but it sounds really
appreciative, no?) and Barry "Grabby-Hands" Cahill for his
deceptive `I'll run way out of my so you'll think you have an easy
goal, but calmly shatter all of your dreams' play.

Low Light
Watching our last hope of league and world domination vanish like an
elephant in a whore house - slowly, painfully and absolutely
unimaginable-ly.

Don't forget about the Party this Friday. Make sure you email
Rachel your votes and your Cup goals at rachelobrien81@... .

I have to work late tonight so I can't make training. I have attached
the list of sets for the session. This does not have to be done tonight
but should be done before the next session on Tuesday.

Hey Celts old and new,

It is time hold our first ever Celts FC End of the Year Party. As with the TPL
season, not
everything has gone to plan and we have had to adapt to the situation before us.
A few of
our most famous and beloved faces will be departing at the beginning of August,
so we
need to have the party before then. Unfortunately, we have a TPL game on every
Sunday
between now and August. So what we are going to do is have the party on a
Friday night,
to give us the best chance of redeeming ourselves and the Celts name in the TPL
standings.

So here are the party details:

Date & Time:
Friday July 21st beginning at 9pm and ending no later than midnight (as we found
out
before). We can decide on a place to go after that during dinner.

Location:
Tokkyo Japanese Restaurant on Jing Gua Rd, Hsinchu. This is an all you can eat,
all you
can drink joint. The cost is about 800Nt per person max. (we were there for
around 500/
per last time).

Taipei boys, you finally get to see all of the amazing sights and sounds (and
smells) that
Hsinchu has to offer. We'll figure out places for you all to crash.

At the dinner we will be handing out our first annual awards; the Celts FC
2005-2006
Most Valuable Player, Clubman of the Year and Most Improved Player, Golden
Donkey and
Golden Boot Awards.

You are asked to vote for the:
1. MVP (person who you feel was the most important to our success on the field).
2. MIP (person who you felt raised their game the most this season),
3. Clubman of the Year (the person who you feel did the most, on or off the
field, to
advance the cause that is the Celts FC).

The Golden Donkey and Golden Boot will be derived from the Stats page. For the
Golden
Boot all goals scored in TPL and Cup games (from the Fall Cup 2005-Summer Cup
2006)
will be added to decide a winner. Please include your Cup goals total with your
votes. If
your number is suspiciously high, an auditing committee will be set on your ass,
IRS style.

The voting will be anonymous and done electronically. Please email your votes
to Rachel
at rachelobrien81@.... Since we don't have any money in the coffer, the
`trophies'
are being sponsored by volunteers so if you win something, look happy with
whatever you
get!

Ok, reschedule if you have to, send the wife out for an all night pedicure, even
quit you
job if it comes down to it… the party is on!

Hard Luck yesterday lads,

The heat's a real killer for lads who are more accustomed to battling it out in bogs in sub-zero temps. The next 2 games are the same. We'll have to do our best......

We should have a bigger squad next week to take on Shane and then the big ones against the Animals and The Lions.

It's now mathematically impossible for us to win the league.......However we can still have a big say in who does and there's the Champions League places. The Lions play the Animals next week. A draw there and wins for us against both means it will come right down to the wire for who wins it.........

If anyone knows of a seasoned goalie for the next few weeks that would be very welcome.

And look out for some fancy new boots (especially on Milo). After trading my only cow for them the mysterious shop asst. assured me that they had magical powers and Milo would grow to 6'5" to be an unstoppable goal eating machine!!!

It's Jack from '24'.

I think we'll probably need him in the next few weeks with Goalie Dave not here to save the day........
