o Keeper Dave verbally waking up the defense and the team.
o The first goal (great work by a lot of guys especially Mic and John)
o Clawing our way back into it after the worst start in Celts history. (We
need to take something positive from this game.)
o The second goal and the reaction of everyone after it went in. (Never say

It's not over yet boys. Football is a funny old game and I think a few squads will change alot when the teaching holidays kick-in.
Lets get as strong a squad for the remaining 4 games and see what happens.
Get out and buy a copy of the China Post today and check out page 19. We may not have beaten the Japanese but we're still the World Famous Celts FC the most handsome team in the league!!!!

Celts,
The Summer Cup programme compiler is going to include a Player
Profiles section for each team. The Celts are going to write their
profiles for each other. I borrowed the Vic2000 from the chairman
and came up with the list below of regular players (those who played
the last 3 competitive games - V B52's, Spring Cup and V Lions) in
alphabetically order. Your job is provide 2-3 sentences on the
player immediately after you in the list. The last name, Jay, writes

I think we should pool together some prizes and have a competition
this summer...
http://en.fifaworldcup.fantasysports.yahoo.com/
Pick max of three players per team, 23 players total, get points on
how they play, etc...
I started a group 'Taiwan Celts' password 'celtsfc'
With only 9 of a potential 15 voters piping up this week, the Stats Machine
Double Grand
was in a tizzy. Working through the most complicated arithmetic known to...
well, I can't
say 'man', I'll go with 'this man'... the hung-over and under-funded master of
statisticology has churned out a list of winners.
Stars:
First - an unbreakable tie between the two pillars of the Celts FC. Every
tie-breaking
scenario fell short and not even a message from the mother of one of the
nominees could
resolve the situation. So, for the first time the award is shared between Lar
and Mic with a
combined 50% of the first star votes.
Second - Because Mic or Lar would have been the second star had there not been a
tie;
there is no award this week.
Third - Again... a tie. It should not come as a surprise that the captain and
keeper of the
magnificent Celts received the next most votes. The shock, and possibly the
most
amazing occurrence in the history of physics, came when a coin toss could not
bring about
a solution. With the official Stats 2K 1NT coin flipping though the air with
purpose and
determination, the unimaginable happened. The coin fell to the floor and rolled
under a
couch. I can't be sure, but I would guess that it is still on edge. So with
10% of the votes
each, Jay and Goalie Dave are your Third Stars.
Donkey:
Yet another tie. Kev (44%) and Steve (44%) will share the award but will sleep
well knowing
it is a runaway train. Get well soon, Morgan.
Highlight:
The only unanimous poll of the week...Mic's goal. A whopping 66% were firmly
behind
Mic's crack. The other 34% don't get it.
Low light:
Their goal stopped us from winning in front of our ladies.
We could have got 'Manattak' and as a man, I'm REALLY happy this did'nt happen. I go to these cups to play football not to be attaked.

As the Dubs would say, nice one.
Will you put the most up to date schedule up on the celts grp page or website?
If it changes while you're uploading it please let us all know!!!
Thanks to all the Celts for the result on Sunday. Great effort. Remember those lads were coming off the back of a 2-match, 15-goal feast so confidence could'nt have been higher. It was a pity we did'nt take all 3-pts but we're still right in there.
Special request that everyone comes out for the next Animals and Lions games. No doubt they will decide our season......we can't do anything about Carnegies other than kidnapping Bolly....
And for anyone that was'nt at the B52's party last year it's well worth it!!! Plus we need to retain our trophy.

Celts, B52 Gala Tournament is on Sat 13. from 10 in the morning to 2ish. The venue is the National Stadium. Times to be confirmed during the week. Contrary to what I was telling people today, we don't have a TPL2 game on Sunday according to the latest schedule. The Tavern web site says we do, but this schedule is now out of date. As ever, the schedule is subject to last minute changes!

Celts, The TPL2 organisers are frantically trying to re-arrange the schedule due to all the games that were postponed earlier in the season. Therefore we will have a game this Sunday - opposition, venue and time TBC. Secondly, the B52 Gala Tournament and Party is on Saturday 13 and the Celts have again been invited to defend their cup. Please email me if you are interested in attending the Gala Party in Carnegies after the tournament (3.00 to 7.30pm) as the B52's need to get an idea of numbers expected. The cost is NT$1200. We will definitely have a TPL2 game on Sunday 14. None of the Celts are expected to make the trip to Taipei 2
days in a row. If you can only make one day, please come to the TPL2 game on Sunday.
Message 2 From: "larkenny" larkenny@... Date: Wed May 3, 2006 11:09pm(PDT) Subject: Game Vs Lions, Da Jia, Sun @ 10.15
Celts, The schedule has already been updated. We play the Lions at 10.15. Same travel arrangements as usual to arrive at the field no later than 9.45. Please be on time. Tim, Hoff and Mick please contact your groups ASAP to see who's available.
The BBC's Garth Brooks obviously doesn't suffer from the same visual difficulties as the voters in Tainan and Dave the Goalie rightly takes his spot between the posts. After a barnstorming display on Sunday evening Hoff gets the nod in the engine room ahead of his arch nemesis Spencer of the BOTAD. Despite a much improved performance against the Hammers at Stamford Bridge, Didier Drogba has to be content with a place on the bench. Milo is the center-piece of the 3-pronged attack.

If anyone caught the sports report this morning they announced that
the TPL is taking a break so all of the teams could battle for the
Spring Cup in Tainan.
They also said it would be a very competative tournament this year
with the local favorite Tainan Pheonix and Kaoshiung Massive having to
wage war with the TPL leading CELTS FC and some other team plus two
animalish teams. But more or less, they are picking us to win. It's
too bad not everyone on the team feels the same way!
We are still accepting last minute additions to the Spring Cup line
up. It will make Lar's job harder, finding a spot for you, but you
deserve to be there for the win!
Those of you with no excuses have no excuses!
Tough one for the old Vic20 this week folks.
Stars - three way tie with 5 votes and 16% each between Morgan, Pete & Shinji.
They all
had great games, as did Diego with 13%, but the Stats Machine 2000 doesn't do
ties, so
here they are:
1st Star - Shinji (he was the only one of the three to get a vote from a
non-playing Celt.
Nothing gets by our crack coaching staff!)
2nd Star - Pete (the recipient of a favorable toss by the official Stats Machine
2000 coin)
3rd Star - Morgan (the Stats Machine 2000 swears that the attempted own goal has
nothing to do with this placing)
If you're counting at home, that gives Morgan the season lead with 8 Star Points
followed
by Lar at 7 and Kev B with 6. (The Stats Machine 2000 would like to make it
known that it
is incapable of cheating and if it could, Morgan would win this week's Donkey!)
Golden Donkey - Morgan with 60% of the votes. (The Stats Machine 2000 is unsure
of the
statistical probability that the above statement was just a coincidence.)
Highlight - The Chairman's signing of the Venezuelan assassin with 60% of the
votes.
What a great man he is! (The Stats Machine 2000 will let you decide which man
it was
referring to as being great.)
Low Light - Sixty percent of the voters felt that we should have used the
opportunity
against the B52s to play a smarter game. We're going to need to be a lot better
if we want
to beat the best teams. (The Stats Machine 2000 would like to add that it is
really going to
miss Ronan's jacket.)
Get in touch with Hoff and tell him that you can't wait to go to Tainan.
Here are the stars, donkeys, highlights and low lights for the heartbreaking
Celts loss to
Carnegies:
Three Stars
1st - Kev (29%)
2nd - Goalie Dave (18%)
3rd - Morgan (14%) * now tied with Lar as the Star-Points leader!
Close but no cigar - Lar, English Steve and Ben.
Golden Donkey
It is a tie between two possibilities, both with 44%. One sees us not having a
donkey for
the week and the other leaves us with a clear-cut donkey. Since this is the
Golden Donkey
Award and not the 'you're ok and I'm ok' award... this weeks winner is American
Steve for
lambasting English Steve for taking his throw in. She's all in good fun boys!
I sure got a
kick out of it (a soccer pun - nice!)
Highlight
It wasn't even close. Ronan's jacket did an amazing job for an inanimate
object, gathering
20% of the votes. But Goalie Dave's clutch save kept our hopes alive and at
80%, was
about the only highlight in a dimly lit game.
Low Light
A very close race. It was a game low on mistakes and high on frustration. In
the end the
low light was, with 44% of the votes, the Celts' first loss of the year. This
should do
nothing but instill fear in the hearts of the next team we face. If we begin
the next game
like we finished this one, we will tear them apart!
Thanks for voting. See you one Saturday.
Three Stars
1st - Lar Kenny
2nd - Jason Want
3rd - Steve Murphy (tied with Pete on the poll but Ben is an ineligible voter,
so Steve's got it)
Golden Donkey
The guilty of sleeping in (tied with Madawei's red, but again Ben is the
difference)
Highlight
Not even close - Lar's goal
Lowlight
Starting with only ten men.
