Re: [The Bruins Den] B's win against Montreal

The # star was the Boston Bruins team . This was a team effort . It was there 4th  game in 6 nights while Montreal for the 2nd time was watching Boston playing less than 24 hours prior and then traveling .

The Bruins are skating as a team working / playing with each other . First win in regular season play since December 2006 . 2nd win in a row against Montreal .

But keep things in perspective . Stanley cups are not won in November . When the 2nd season begins Next April all these games will mean nothing  But for these playing now learing and realizing they can beat Montreal it is a learning step in a long season of ups and downs . Their will be injuries / slumps , but these young players are locked into Claude Julien system so lets enjoy the ride one step at a time.

As for Lucic , he just out smarted Montreal . Lucic kicked Montreal in their face when he scored Boston 1st goal , while Montreal dressed a goon hockey player . Discipline , Lucic is fast becoming a star player with similar characteristics  of Cam Neely . Lucic is more valuable on the ice to Boston than beating up opposing players . Why any one would want to fight Lucic is beyond comprehension . This kid is a rock solid all around player . He is so difficult for opposing players to move in front of the net .

Finally as I stated after the Playoffs Boston Montreal 2008 . I saw evident signs that Boston was the better team losing gaining learning more than Montreal did winning that series .Immediatley following Montreal was wiped out by Philadelphia fast because their similar  play would be unsuccessful to win in the NHL . This Montreal team looks weaker and certainly will not go far in any playoffs , but it is a long season for their organization to make changes before next spring .

As for patrick Roy night I for one wonder how many athletes will spit in the owners , coaches face  of the organization , demand to be traded out of the organization , and have there number retired ? At this rate every one jersey will be retired . The Bruins had so much success with Patrick Roy . He was the only Montreal Goaltender to lose 4 playoff series to the Boston Bruins in the last 66 years , 1988 , 1990 , 1991 , 1992 4 game sweep ! It was fitting to beat Montreal on his night on Montreal ice . The Bruins are making statements in the NHL . Montreal look out the Boston Bruins are back !

Here are my 3 stars for tonights game. Tim Thomas, Tim Thomas and Tim
Thomas. Okay my 1 star. I was enjoying the game for the most part
except for the last part of the 3rd period when the Habs controlled
the game eventually scoring the tying goal. Thanks goodness Thomas
kept us in the game. Nice move by Kessel setting up Lucic for the B's
first goal. Those poor fans wanting him to fight Laroque weren't
happy. haha. I hate Hab fans. Looking at the game stats I see the B's
won 32 and lost 33 faceoffs. I don't know where those stats came from
as I was sure the Hab's won 4 times as many faceoffs as our B's. We
have to work on that. At least it was a Bruins victory. That's all I want.

One thing I've noticed this season is the quickness and accuracy of the passing coming through center ice. Lucic and Kessel are REALLY connected this...
