TRADE TALK BRUIN ...
The Ottawa Sun reported this past weekend that the Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers have asked the Phoenix Coyotes about defenseman Derek Morris. Rink Rap stumped for a Morris acquisition in 2002, when the Bruins were first in the Eastern Conference and second in the NHL but lacked offense from the blue line. At his best, Morris is the complete package, but until this season the new NHL hadn't been as kind to Morris. Trimmed down, Morris is taking fewer penalties. The Coyotes are deep on defense but thin up front, which makes the obvious compensation Glen Murray. Both players earn around $4 million, and the struggling Murray is no longer on Marc Savard's line. Stay tuned.
