Maybe I am living in a fantasy world, but I hope that some coach can be found who can deal with the organization (his bosses) and the players who play for his team. One thing I have to say tho is this ... I have watched video from '79 when the Bruins went into the stands after some out of line fans, and I really don't blame the player for doing that ....
Gary Grossman <MrGary4u@msn.com> wrote:Steve I certainly hope for the same , but there just isn't any set firm direction in which this club should be taken forward .Let me give you an example . Like this . The Boston Bruins owner is the hamas ! The Bruins coach will be Fattah ! The assistant coach will be the Hezbollah ! The general manager will be Iranian !Then ask yourself this question , How the hell can they get along with a sensible direction for success for the Boston Bruins , if in real life , they can't live beside one another , can you just imagine the turmoil in the dressing room after every period and game ?Now just maybe what the Boston Bruins need is the secretary of state Condi leeza rice to sit all the players down and lay out a plan for success but at this time I sadly just don't see it ? Do you , please tell me ! Clearly it is a sign inconsistency , uncertainty , lack of direction by those in leadership within higher up management .To say he was fired because of lack of skill as a professional hockey coach Is not the case entirely as the general manager lacks direction given with the responsibility of a general manager , therefore leaving one to think clearly the internal mess with in this hockey association . Nope . Disappointed ? Nope Looking ahead with some sort of optimism ? Yes, despite and one who would want to work and be employed by the current ownership a real cancer the Jeremy Jacobs Cancer of Hockey !By the way Dave Lewis remains retained haired in another capacity with the Boston Bruins .----- Original Message -----From: steve matthewsSent: Friday, June 15, 2007 9:13 PMSubject: Re: [The Bruins Den] Dave lewis fired !Hmmm, a very interesting possibility. Can any of us really be too sad to see Dave Lewis go? If I remember correctly a year ago there was widespread objection to his ever having the job in the first place. Let us just wonder who the Bruin organization will hire over the summer

Bruins fire Lewis

The Bruins Friday dismissed coach Dave Lewis, a little more than two
months after first-year general manager Peter Chiarelli said the 53-
year-old Lewis would return for a second season with the club
Lewis, not immediately available for comment, coached the Bruins to
a disappointing 35-41-0-6 record in 2006-07, in what turned out to
be his only year behind the Boston bench. Just last summer, he was
signed to a four-year deal believed to be worth $800,000 annually to
take over as Mike Sullivan's successor
The dismissal was confirmed by a source with direct involvement in
the decision.
Chiarelli, who surprisingly endorsed Lewis after strong comments
from owner Jeremy Jacobs in April that hinted toward Lewis's
dismissal, was not immediately available for comment.
According to the source, the Bruins have yet to name their next
coach. Perhaps a leading candidate would be Pat Quinn, ex-coach of
the Maple Leafs, who reportedly told a Toronto radio station today
that he regretted not taking the Boston job when it was offered by
Chiarelli last summer.
