It should be noted that pat Quinn was the man the Bruins wanted behind the bench
but once more monetary issues prevented his appearance within the Boston Bruins
Organization.
Dave lewis ;After his playing career ended with the Red Wings in the 1988
season<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987-88_NHL_season>, he stayed with the team
as an assistant coach. When Scotty
Bowman<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotty_Bowman> retired in
2002<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001-02_NHL_season>, Dave Lewis was named head
coach of the Red Wings. In two seasons, he guided the Red Wings to two 48-win
campaigns, including a Presidents'
Trophy<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidents'_Trophy>. In the playoffs,
however, he had a record of 6-10. After the lockout ended, his contract was
allowed to expire on June 30<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_30>,
2005<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005>. He was re-hired by the Red Wings on
August 9<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_9>,
2005<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005>, as a
scout<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scout_(sport)>.
On June 29, 2006, Lewis was named head coach of the Boston Bruins, making him
the 27th head coach in team history.

Go ahead and jump ship. Yeah, this team is terrible and apparently you
can't deal. But I know many hardcore NHL fans of several teams and
deserters such as yourself are not all that welcome on any team's
bandwagon.
I can't help but wonder how many B's fans shared your sentiment in
1968 only to be the loudest celebrants as Orr clinched the Cup in the
sweep of St. Louis in 1970.
