"Fokken" is Middle Dutch/Germanic (to strike). As to where we get
our word "fuck", well this is a bit of a gray area, especially when
you consider the connections between sex and agression and dominance.
Mating rituals of many animals including humans (especially in the
early stages) are difficult to distinguish from fighting. And men
wonder why at least 9 of 10 women prefer the phrase "make love."
