As was expected Ray joined the best hockey players of all-time as he
entered the Hockey Hall Of Fame today. Joining Ray were Paul Coffey
and Larry Murphy as they both entered the Hall in their first year of
eligibility. Ray holds career records for defensemen in goals (410),
assists (1,169) and points (1,579). The eighth overall pick in the
1979 draft, he won the Calder trophy as the league's top rookie.
Bourque won the Norris Trophy as the league's best defenseman five
times. It is a great finish to a great career.
