Thank you for this extensive and excellent information. Sounds like
most of Texas is closed!! On a private-property note, the Six-0 in
Cleburne has been do-able on the vehicle roads and most but not all
of the horse trails.
Keep the updates coming!

Just thought I would let ya'll know that my leg is not doing as well as
I wanted it to. I have had some complecations with it, but I will not
give up and it will get well.
I am planning on being at Fort parker in September, but I will not be
riding my horse. If possible I will hitch a ride in a wagon if my leg
will permitt it. But if not I will there when ya'll leave out and I
will be there when ya'll return.
Everyone please think of me in your prayers.
See ya on the trails,

Howdy!
Had another great 3hr ride at the Six-0 Ranch in Cleburne on Saturday.
Some wet areas naturally, but found areas that were gaitable!

Need to find trail conditions for McCown Valley Park. Any locals riding
there? I do have some ACE phone numbers to call, but would prefer to
hear from someone actually riding the trails.
Thx!!

Bobbie had surgery last Thursday in Houston and after about five hours
they finally took her to recovery. The Dr said it was a very difficult
procedure but that she did very well. After several days in the
hospital she was finally able to go home to Groesbeck Sunday to
recover. A lot of people don't know it but Bobbie has been dealing
with an ankle and upper leg that just refused to heal for the last 12
yrs. It finally got to a point that it was interfering with her normal
life as well as her joy of trailriding. We hope to see Bobbie back on
the trail via wagon soon and then she should be able to ride her horse
again in November if all goes well.

Hello Ladies,
Just wanted to let everyone know I am going to have surgery on my leg
in a few weeks. I had a car wreck about 14 years ago and crushed my
foot and 8" of my leg. Well the chemo has reopened the new bone that
had grown. I had less than a cenimeter for all the bone to be back
together. Anyhow!!! I will be having surgery in the next few weeks in
Houston. I will probably not be riding for about a year, but the good
thing is I get my leg fixed.
So whats been going on? No one has made many comments for a while.
I am guilty of that my self. The hot weather is upon us and if I was
able to ride I ain't going to in this heat.
I beleave the first fall ride will be Fort Parker. Even though I will
not be able to ride I will be there.
Hope all is doing well.

About 6-O Ranch:

It is open to anyone by appointment, costs 10.00 per horse and you have to show your coggins.  It’s about 1500 acres of marked trails of varying difficulty including ranch roads, open pastures, hills and wooded areas.  There are no facilities and no camping.  The owners are Kim and Ted Reeves who are lovely people and we are grateful that they are willing to share their beautiful ranch with us. Call for an appointment and directions. 817-558-7146. (They are located about 15 miles west of Cleburne.)

Happy trails,

We just missed Digger at 6-O as Ken and I and two friends went on Sunday, May 20th!  I’ll confirm that the wildflowers were spectacular!
If you were the ones who lost a camera, we did not find it, although we looked……

We’re planning on going Sunday and Monday this week (weather permitting).  We do not ride in thunderstorms!

Happy trails,

MACHEESMA # 589131

"Chiya" is a 6 year old purebred Arabian mare. 14.3 HH, chestnut with a
star and diagonal stockings. She has a well laid back shoulder, deep
girth, lots of substance and bone, with plenty of Arab type. Chiya has a
lovely head, huge soft eye, and a long mane and forelock (tail is
catching up!).

Check out this pedigree! 79 PLUS % Crabbet!

Sire: CAVU MALACHI - by *Ralvon Elijah out of Gentle Machita (by
Vallejo Macho X Gentle Reflection by Gentleman)

Dam: MACHARENA - by Vallejo Macho out of Cavu Miss Fancy (by
*Ralvon Elijah X Diamonds Desiree by Wild Diamond)

This mare is ready and needing to go to work! She has siblings
and cousins out winning in all disciplines from working cow horse to
dressage to endurance. This lady could be your next champion as well as
your new best friend!
Chiya was professionally started under saddle as a late 3 year
old and ridden for several months. She went on trail rides, alone and in
groups, and in parades. She hasn't been ridden much since. She is
sensible and really smart. Easy to catch and handle, I fly spray her in
the pasture without a halter. My husband's shop and my barn share space
so she is used to clanging metal, power tools, air compressors, men
cussing and all other types of loud, sudden and unexpected noises!
Good with my dogs and llama, no bad manners but is an alpha mare.
Lives in pasture or stall easily. UTD on all care. Excellent feet, no
problems with farrier or vet. Super easy keeper! Smart, quick and
catty on her feet, this mare is too good to be just standing around in my
pasture.

$2500.00 OBO - if you are interested in Chiya, talk to me!

Hi Paula,

We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath double-wide (1999 American Homestar) on
23.46 acres, mostly pasture with some trees. The house has white
vinyl siding and is 28 X 56. I really LOVE my house and hate to
leave it as it has more closet space than most site built homes. It
has a working fireplace and all the ceilings are vaulted. The A/C &
heater vents are all in the ceiling as well. There is a base of
caliche rock underneath the house as I wanted to make sure there
wasn't much shifting over time. We have a 1-1/2 acre pond that is fed
by an underground stream, so we have pond water when no one else
does. Hollis started building a 12 X 24 workshop that we hope to
have finished within the next few months. The pasture is pretty
clean and is a mixture of bahia (which my horses love) and common
bermuda. I have tried to keep the weeds mowed down but it does need
mowing right now. I have left the pasture open (no cross-fencing)
because I like for the horses to have lots of room to run and move
around. The perimeter fence is barbed wire with a hot wire around
the yard area. Everyone that has visited has commented about what a
pretty place it is. We are asking $215,000.00.

It is located about 6 miles southwest from Buffalo on the west side
of I-45. Our place is two miles west of I-45 off the service road.
One other thing, we have GREAT neighbors. They don't bother you but
at the same time watch out for you and your property. We are really
going to miss them in a big way.

I know what you mean about your parents. My mother came to the
nursing home in Buffalo for about 3 months and I felt blessed to be
able to see her every day. My dad is 82 and not doing as well but
was still living in Houston and driving every few weeks up here to
visit her. Mother has since moved to a nursing home in Houston
within 5 miles of their home. She missed my Dad immensely while she
was here. The good news is, now that we are moving to Bastrop, she
and my dad are both very interested in the possibility of moving to
Bastrop as well.

I pray that you will find a solution to the dilemma concerning your
parents. As we get older, I think we appreciate our parents more, or
at least I do.

Take care and keep in touch. If you all are in the Bastrop area,
please let us know. We would love to see you all again. Maybe we
could ride at McKinney Roughs!

Terry

Terry, It's nice to hear about your new job but we will miss you!  Please be safe and keep in touch.  I guess Hollis is in agreement with this move?  My hubby wants to move to Buffalo in the worst way but I don't know if I could move away until I fulfill my duty to my parents.  There are several siblings but some have moved away and someone needs to stay here and see that mom and dad are taken care of since they are getting older.  Please tell us about your house and property.  Someone here might be intrested.

Had a great ride May 19 at the Six-0 Ranch in Cleburne. Large areas of
flowers in full bloom. Very pretty!! Dry trails!

Rode May 21 at Holiday Park/Benbrook. South trail is still closed.
There are two tricky mud crossings on the north trail. Passable, but
look twice before you cross!

Safe riding to all.

I have a 2006 Black and White Tobiano Stud Colt For Sale that I believe will test Homozygous for the Tobiano Gene and could even test positive for the Black Gene as well.  So could be Double Homozygous is he is.  I haven't had him tested but if he doesn't sell soon, I will test him.  He is loudly marked and is a half brother to my upcoming Homozygous Stallion which is why I must sell this one.  He is registered with APHA and his name is Montanas Warpaint.  Should mature to at least 15H.  About 50/50 on his color.  Due to my health issues, he does need more ground work.  Up to date on shots, coggins, etc and I even have a health certificate on him.  He would be a nice addition to anyones breeding program.  Both parents are outstanding looking horses.  Dam on site and she is 16H.  Only asking $1000.

OFF TOPIC:  If anyone collects Beanie Babies, I have many listed on eBay for sale.  I am trying to clear out a closet and I have many in bags that I collected between 1993-1998.  Also have Nike Batting Gloves listed too.  Will be listing a 2005 Ford F150 Texas Edition with low miles in the next day or so.  Since I have been sick, I am not able to drive and my husband is having a hard time driving two vehicles.  Who knows what else I might put up for sale next.

I placed a bid on two purses and won both.  So I kept one and placed one back onto eBay for sale.  This is a very nice purse.  I liked this purse better, but I needed one that I can throw over my shoulder.  Please take a look at my auction to see if it is something that you would enjoy.  I am only asking the same price that I paid for it.

Well, I was invited to ride in the Sam Houston Forest and I had a great
time. I am scouting out places that let us camp. I have heard of one
place but have not gotten to ride there yet. It has primative camping
but I figure we can handle that for a couple of days if the riding is
good. Where we rode yesterday was absolutely gorgeous but you better
not venture off on any trails since it IS the forest. Ladies, Fuel up
your trucks cuz we is gonna ride. (hopefully)

Fort Parker is just around the corner and I'm still waiting to get my
dang motorhome back. I'm fixing to serve them with an eviction notice
so that they can start moving on the dang thing. Who would have thought
a doe could have done so much damage.... LOL

My back yard neighbor is wanting to come to Fort Parker with me so we
are gonna see just how big of a cowboy he is. I guess I won't make fun
of him since he is going to give us our campfire entertainment
supposedly. He is the one who bought my single footer and I guess that
will who he brings IF he comes. I have a funny feeling SOMETHING will
come up to keep him from coming.

OK, hope everyone is doing well.
