Hi Melissa
If you do not mind emailing your 3.0 team
we are looking for some 3.0 level players to play wtt at Broome athletic park at 5pm
April 11: FREE CTL Spring Tennis Social ~8:00 am ~ 2:00 pm
April 15: The Colesville Tennis LaddersApr 15- Oct 15
Please reply or go to www.tennisladder.com if you would like to participate or if you have suggestions, questions or corrections.
The FREE April 11 Social will be held at the six Fairland Regional Park courts at 3928 Greencastle Rd in Burtonsville, MD. You don't need to be a CTL member to attend.
However, you must be a CTL member ($10 per household per year) to play on the CTL Ladders. 2008 CTL members have until April 15 to renew and keep their Ladder position(s) from last year.
Directions to Greencastle courts: http://www.tennisladder.com/other/GreencastleDirections.html.
We would like to start the Social early, like 8:00 am, to make sure we get these public courts. But if you would prefer to start at another time, especially since it might be cold at 8:00 am, please let us know.
Format for the Social: How about 1st-to-4-No-ad mini sets?
Balls, food and drinks will be provided. If you don't want to play at the Social, you might want to come just for the food.
Please reply to ctlad@... if you want to be removed from our mailing list.
I know it's late notice, but there's a tennis party this Saturday night in Fairfax. If you respond to the organizer (Pam Bowman 410-823-2577) and send out your check by COB today, the cost is $20 [for non Ski Club members]. The web site is http://www.scwdc.org/indoor_tennis.asp
I am fairly certain I'll be there, so should you guys. There are definitely a few spots available.

It looks like the weather will be OK for the Saturday July 12 Social to be held from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm at the six outdoor tennis courts at Fairland Regional Park, 3928 Greencastle Rd. Burtonsville, MD, if nobody beats us to the courts.
The Social is FREE. Non-CTL members, Kids and Eaters Only welcome. Balls, food and drinks will be provided. Chinese food and pizza around 11:30!
So far, 39 players have signed up but they are coming at different times so there is room for more. But there will probably be some waiting to play between 9:00 and 11:00. So if you can, please sign up for 11:00 or later or even 7:00 or 7:30 am!
Please reply (ctlad@...) or go to www.tennisladder.com if you would like to play and have not already signed up. Or just show up and hope that a lot of others do not come at the same time.
Format will probably be: play First-To-4 no-ad mini-set win-by-1-not-2 then get off and join others or wait. But suggestions are welcome.
We would like to start the Social early, like 8:00 am, or even 7:00 or 7:30 am, to make sure we get these public courts. Also it will be cooler at these early times. Please let us know your Estimated Time of Arrival.
Please go to: www.greenbelt.com/tennis to sign up for the July 26 Greenbelt Firecracker Mixed Doubles Tournament.
You are invited to the FREE Colesville Tennis Ladder Saturday July 12,2008 8:00 am - 2:00 pm Social to be held at the six(6) Fairland Region Park courts at 3928 Greencastle Rd, Burtonsville, MD (if nobody beats us to the courts).
We would like to start the Social early, like 8:00 am, to make sure we get these public courts. Or even 7:00 am if its going to be hot. Let us know your Estimated Time of Arrival.
The format for the Social will probably be for players to play one no-ad doubles 1st-to-4 mini-set and then let any waiting players play. But other suggestions are welcome.
Balls*, food* and drinks* will be provided for the Social.
*Suggestions on the above three also welcome.
Suggestions for Going Green to save the planet also welcome.
Please reply to ctlad@... if you want to be removed from our mailing list and state that you want to be removed.
It looks like the weather will be ok but perhaps a little breezy (see http://tennfest.com/weather.html) for the Oct 13 Social to be held from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm at the six outdoor tennis courts at Fairland Regional Park, 3928 Greencastle Rd. Burtonsville, MD.
The Social is FREE. Non-CTL members and Eaters Only welcome.
Balls, food and drinks will be provided.
So far 57 players have signed up, but they are coming at different times so there is room for more. But there will probably be some waiting** (6 courts so 24 play at one time) to play between 9:00 and 11:00. So if you can, please sign up for 11:00 or later or 7:30 am.
**If you have to wait you may want to warm up by hitting volleys. The players that hit the most volleys in a row get to split 6 cans of tennis balls! And hitting volleys might be more fun than playing.
Please reply (ctlad@...) or go to www.tennisladder.com if you would like to participate and have not already signed up. Please let us know your Estimated Time of Arrival. Or just show up and hope that a lot of others do not come at the same time.
You are invited to attend the FREE Colesville Tennis Ladder Social, Saturday October 13,2007, 8:00 am ~ 2:00 pm, 3928 Greencastle Rd, Fairland Regional Park, Burtonsville, MD. Six(6) courts! Rain date Sunday October 14.
Please go to www.tennisladder.com if you would like to play in FREE CTL Tournament, Leagues, or Drills.
Oct 13: Greencastle and/or Greenbelt?
The Greenbelt Tennis Association is starting a tennis tournament on the same date (Oct 13) as the CTL social. Perhaps you can participate in both. Please see http://www.greenbelt.com/tennis.
Please see attached flyer.

I am looking for 3 or 4 ladies who play at the 3.5 level, for our women
combo 6.5 team in the fall (middle Sept - mid Dec 2007). Team match
consists of 3 doubles, with pair whose rating sums to 6.5 or less.
I have mostly 3.0 players and need a few 3.5 players to make the match
more competitive.
The team will have team practices and drills with a pro.
The fall is a play-for-fun season. Please call 301 230 1766 or email
me, if interested.
Thanks.

I see you guys use this group forum to get tennis players together, and I
wanted to suggest something that might make your lives a little easier. Sportsvite.com is a free
social network entirely devoted to recreational athletes. Sportsvite lets you:
- Keep players connected
- Search for new players to play with and against
- Set up matches, and send invites and reminders to players
- Check out playing locations
- Keep tabs on scores and recaps after each match
- Add photos and videos of your matches
We're still growing our tennis community and we would really appreciate your
input. We make sure to answer every email personally, and we even have some
free headbands to give away, so please feel free to contact me with any
questions, or feedback on the site.
If anyone is interested in WTT please let me know.
The league is playing on Sunday from 5-7 pm at Broome Athletic Park in Rockville (on Twinbrooke Parkway). It is a 3.0 USTA rated league. There is a 3.5 league that plays at 6pm at Wood Middle School if anyone is interested.
We need both women and men to fill some of the teams. My team needs at least one more woman, but preferably 2.
I really need someone to sub for me this next Sunday (7/15), so if you want to come out and see what WTT is about before making the committment, I can use the sub.

Hello everyone! My name is Jose, I'm 38 and in good condition. I've always liked playing tennis and am looking for people to play sets (2- 3 maybe more if you - and I - are up to it) for fun. I have never been in a tournament, am not competitive at all and my level may be somewhere around 3. I have a descent service, pretty good forehand (doesn't everyone?!) and can volley Ok. I have always struggled with my backhand. I can play on Mondays, Wednesdays evenings and weekend mornings.
Hi there... is there anyone in the Silver Spring/Bethesda or other close-in areas of Montgomery County who is interested in just hitting the ball around at some point on Saturday? Late morning/early afternoon timeframe? I'm just looking to work on some ground strokes and get in some exercise. Nothing competitive. I'm 36, average skill level (played in high school but that's it). There are some nice courts near my house along Sligo Creek Parkway, but I have a car and can also travel around the area.

If anyone is interested in WTT just follow the link and register, but don't pay. Send Rich G. an email and let him know that you are registered and list him as the captain. He will assign you a team and take the payment directly. We still need one male and one female on my team. So, if you are interested ask him to assign you to my team.
Also, if anyone wants to sub, I need a female to play for me this Sunday. Just send me an email if you are available and would like to play this Sunday from 6-8 pm.
Happy Swinging.

The April 14 Social will be held at the six Greencastle Rd courts in Burtonsville, MD. You don't need to sign up with a doubles partner. Partners will
be provided. The Social is FREE. You don't need to be a CTL member to participate.
However, you must be a CTL member ($10 per household per year and you get a free t-shirt!) to play on the CTL Ladders.
We would like to start the Social early, like 8:00 am, to make sure we get these public courts. But if you would prefer to start at another time, especially since it might be cold at 8:00 am, please let us know.
The format will depend on how many players sign up. Usually the format is for players to play one regular doubles set and then let any waiting players play a set. But we are open to suggestions.
Balls, food and drinks will be provided.
CTL members have until April 15 to renew and keep their Ladder position(s) from last year.
