Non-CTL members and kids are welcome.
Please indicate your tennis level and preferred time of arrival, e.g., noon, 11:00, etc. If you plan to just show up, the best times to arrive would probably be noon or later, because several players signed up to play before noon.
If you signed up but won't be attending, please reply to ctlad@... .
The Social will be held this coming Saturday July 9 between 8:00 am - 2:00 pm at the six public (outdoor) courts at Fairland Regional Park at 3928 Greencastle Road in Burtonsville, MD - if nobody beats us to them.
The predicted weather should be OK (no rain) but maybe there will be a few puddles from Friday's rain. Please see Tiros's http://tennfest.com/weather.html .
If you have questions or suggestions (mainly on format of play and snacks) or if you would like to Help at the social, please indicate in your email.
If there are no better suggestions (like 8 no-ad games), the format will be to play one regular (not no-ad) set and then vacate the court if others are waiting. If the score is 5-5 and others are waiting, please call it a tie and let others have the court.
To encourage players to socialize and meet new players, a USA Tennis hat will be given to the player that plays with and against the most different players.
Does anybody have any entertainment-while-waiting suggestions? How about if we give a can of tennis balls to the players that can hit the most volleys without letting the ball hit the ground?
