I would like to welcome new members and welcome back existing members. 2003
was a good year for Tennis4Fun (T4F). We had two tournaments, a few indoor
tennis socials, and many weekends of good tennis and good companionship.
Let's continue this success in 2004.

There a few things I'd like to go over.

1) Melissa Maderia ( nmr1ace@... ) is co-administrator for the group.

2) The TennisEngine Ladder. I know several people have asked to be added
and Melissa or I will add you very soon - we apologize for the delay (my
fault). Also, be warned - the ladder will be reset before the Spring 2004
T4F Tournament. If you would like to see previous results from 2002 and
2003 - there will be an archive (I'll post a link later)

3) There is an indoor tennis party this Saturday 3/27 at Four Seasons for
anyone USTA 3.5 and above - contact Robin Swerdloff (
robinswerdloff@... ) for more information. I believe it will be $20
at the door and includes 2+ hours of tennis, food, beverage, and the
opportunity to meet more mid/high level players.

4) There are indoor tennis parties at Fairfax Racquet Club the next 4
Saturdays (through 4/17) open to all levels. The cost is roughly $20 and
includes 2+ hours of tennis, food, beverage, and the opportunity to meet

5) I have added in a reminder for every Saturday (Olney, 8:30 AM) and
Tuesday (Cabin John, 5:45 PM) from April 3rd to October 30th for our Group
Play sessions.

6) The Ski Club has an outdoor ladder - mens, womens, and mixed doubles.

becomes available). Last Year Christine Knoche ran the ladders and the cost
was $3 for an individual and $5 for a team (plus your expenses when you
play). They also meet at Haines Point, DC every Wednesday evening from May
to September.

7) The T4F Spring 2004 Tournament. Sunday May 2, 2004 at Olney Regional
Park. Mixed Doubles. For more information contact me (

8) Indoor Tennis 2004/2005. There is a Sunday Night group (mixed doubles)
that meets at Whitley Park in Bethesda from 7:00-9:00 PM. Level is 3.0/3.5.

9) Indoor Tennis 2004/2005. There are several groups (Wednesday mixed,
3.0/3.5; Friday mens, 4.0; and ? Womens). That meet in the area (Quince

10) The Fall 2004 T4F Tournament. Saturday Sept 25, 2004 at Olney Regional
