PRESS RELEASE: VeloNews extends Sea Otter Photo Contest
This report filed April 4, 2006
Attention Sea Otter Classic Fans: Introducing the VeloNews-Sea Otter Photo Gallery
Submit your photos taken at the 2006 Sea Otter Classic before April 16th and enter to win prizes and have your photos published on VeloNews.com. Based around the Laguna Seca Recreation Area just inland of Monterey, California, the Sea Otter Classic is a cycling festival like no other. Every year for four days, tens of thousands of bike enthusiasts converge on the green
rolling hills like a massing two-wheeled army. Tattooed men on burly downhill bikes wait patiently behind little girls on pink bikes with training wheels in the numerous food vendor queues. Cross-country riders who have never pinned on a number chat with roadies who live for competition. Professional stunt riders navigate four-inch-wide planks forty feet above the heads of cheering spectators. And young BMX riders practice their skills near the start/finish line where professional riders come thundering past dozens of times during the pro circuit race. Even the youngest Sea Otter fans get into the action at the Kid's Carnival and other events designed specifically for budding cyclists. You can find many of these elements scattered around the United States, but finding them all in one place requires a trip to the Sea Otter Classic. Capture the images that capture the essence of the Sea Otter Classic and submit them to VeloNews for a chance to win prizes and have your photo published on VeloNews.com. We will award three prizes for this special contest: - Best MTB photo: A Garmin Edge 205 - GPS-enabled personal trainer and cycle computer
- Best Road photo: Garmin Edge 205 - GPS-enabled personal trainer and cycle computer
- Best of Show Photo: Palm Treo Phone
