Congratulations to all for the excellent finishes, lessons in flat
repairs, and battle scars. I'm actually really bummed I wasn't
there. As it turned out, Shaney came down with the worst stomach
flu ever on Friday night, and I spent most of Saturday and Sunday
taking care of her and Riley. Rich did go to D-ville without me,
and reported that although it was HOT (over 105), there were indeed
a lot of riders up enjoying the fine Sierra riding. The new section
of trail that we worked on with the SBTS group is apparently pretty
f-d up already, it sounds like mostly due to some dirtbikes that
went through and chewed things up. Prepair for loose stuff in that
section. The word on the "new" upper section is that they're going
to be doing a walk through soon with the property owner, which
should be the determining factor as to if it will be part of the new
DH course or not (this is the section that also adds the additional
climbing).
Franck, thank you once again for the excellent pics - you really
know how to capture the scene. Mike, thanks for the long report -
you guys were justified in poking fun at me. Piper, please pass on a
sincere appology to Mat - and from the pics, I realize that I *do*
know him - tell him that he needs to join our Weds South Bay rides
again (if he can forgive me for dropping out on him).
I did manage to get a Santa Teresa ride in late yesterday afternoon -
it was 90 deg in the shade between 4-6pm, and I'm guessing over 100
in the sun, and I actually cut my ride short due to how it was
affecting me! I would have choked fo sho at the 8-hour. You solo
and even two person team members are studs!
