Man, great photos everyone. As always, Franck's candid's are really
cool. Mike and Mike, thanks for joining me in the carpool and kicking
down for my gas-guzzler. I truly believe that if anyone has the
capability of pulling off cruising for hot chicks in a minivan and
Malibu, it's you guys. Keith and Loren, sorry you guys weren't there -
you were missed in the post-race commisery fest. I'll do a quick
report:

The course was awesome - I'll be back for sure. At least a couple of
times while racing I had to just out right say how sweeeeeeet the
course was (to unknown racers around me at the time). I really
enjoyed all of the technical sections, and I was usually able to
figure out a way to pass people in the downhill drop sections (if they
went left on the stairs, I'd go right, and vice versa). That added a
lot to the fun factor. I went from feeling OK to feeling great in the
first loop, and managed to catch up to a few TWWers that I thought was
impossible for me to do. Unfortunately, it was fleeting... I think
Troy passed me back up within that first loop, and others on the start
of the second climb. I really felt my energy drop bigtime right
there, and the whole second lap was spent in "survival mode" (except
those fun-@ss downhill sections!). Lessons learned though: I think I
need to work on my endurance, and I also should have probably brought
some carb-gel with me - that probably would have helped. Although,
when I mentinoed this to Franck, he laughed and said that all he
brought was tobacco and water. :-)

I am not sure if it is Franck's pics or the flicker site but I always find them the easiest/nicest to look at. kat Franck Mangin <bizmangin@...> wrote:...

Normally, off the bike pics are boring 'poseur' shots. Franck's got a good eye though. He captures the emotion and the experience of the event through the...

You know, with Franck's freakin' fast 1:39 time, he might have pushed Isaias for 3rd place in the Expert class. Isaias did 2:33... I think I'm going to take...
