I am in Connecticut, closer to the Rhode Island border than NY. My
youngest sister is in Vestal (Binghamton) and went to school at
Cornell. Beautiful area.
Good luck on all your upcoming events and challenges. The sprint tri
should be a blast - have done four myself but never got comfortable
in the swim so I no longer participate in them. I also am a
run/walker (or walk/runner I guess) as I am not a traditionally built
runner (my middle sister [I am the oldest of the three] has a thin,
traditional runner's build). She has done the Goofy and will do it
again come '09.
I have completed three fulls: Disney, Kiawah Island, SC, and San
Diego RnR; never again. Will stick to the half. I love the half as
a distance; it feels long/challenging enough without being too
punishing. And if you can get in to Saratoga Springs for a pedicure
after the race (between if you are doing the Goofy) it is wonderful.
My middle sister had a pedi between the half and the full and after
convincing the woman doing her feet not to remove all the calluses
(?), she thoroughly enjoyed herself and felt great for the full on
Sunday. The bubbling water and massage focused on your feet and
lower legs are fantastic.
