Hi all,

With 2007 almost upon us, we need to do a little housekeeping and planning for the year.  We’ll see a flurry of new inquiries shortly after New Years, and having things more or less in order is a big plus ;-)

So, first a quick review of 06.  It wasn’t our best year, to be frank --  not a lot of social activity, low workout participation, not a lot of member-to-member face time (as best I could tell, anyway).  We also have Ingrid, one of the club’s founders and president, moving out of that role to focus on her Team in Training coaching (very positive for her and the sport, inconvenient for us).  Our sponsorship with Erik’s may also be changing to some extent.  I’m not sure what’s happening there, but will certainly pass on info as I have it.

We had some real high points, as well, and they shouldn’t be ignored.  The spring camp was great.  This is a big event for the club, probably the single most important club activity in any single year.  We had good turnout, good instruction, and great participation from the new folks.  If we only did one thing every year, for me, this would be it.

We also got our new race wear made and in circulation.  I think the singlets look great, and they made us more visible than ever before at – and especially during – races.  This was a huge deal for us, and was really important for our development as a club.

So, here’s where we are.  We need to figure out what the club is going to be as we evolve.  I think we need to know a little more about what everyone is planning and is interested in doing.  I’ve put together a few questions that may help.  You can feel free to respond to the list or just to me at rich.friedeman@... or rich@..., if you’d like to keep things in a less public forum.

How many races are you planning for 07?

What is the longest A priority race you’re planning?

Are you planning/willing to volunteer at any races?

Are you interested in leading or participating in group workouts?  Occasionally?  Regularly?

Are you interested in helping with the administration of the club? (website, membership, workout coordinator, volunteer coordinator, event planner, etc.)

Are you familiar with Erik’s sponsorship program in 06?  Did you use it?  How important is it to you?

Do you own a TC Tri race singlet?

Are you interested in attending or helping with our spring camp for new triathletes? (usually in April or May)

Are you interested in non-workout/race club socializing?

Is there anything you’d like to see the club do that we’re not doing?  Are you willing to help with that?

I know it’s cold out there, and not everyone is thinking about this stuff yet, but this will be a big help in keeping the club growing and improving.

Thanks,

Rich
