Re: [tctri] Seat

I used it in my buildup to and the (failed on the run) attempt at my first 1/2 IM last season, so I had a couple of long rides in the 60-70 mile range and several in the 35-50.  I have to say, there are times where it's just not comfortable having anything poke you quite so personally, but, at least for my backside, the profile saddle is the best I've found.

Thanks!  Have you used the Profile's tri-saddle on long rides?  How long have you been riding on the Profile?  Sounds like I might give that a try.  Scott

better for me when I moved to the tri-specific saddles.  I had pretty
good luck with the San Marco Aspide (similar to the Azoto) that is
basically one giant gel pad from the middle of the saddle forward to the
tip of the nose.  In the end (pun intended), it just wasn't right for
longer rides, though, still causing a lot of discomfort above 30 miles.
Now I'm using Profile's tri-saddle -- same general idea as the San
Marco's, slightly wider nose -- and it's much better.  Giving one of
those a try may be worthwhile for you.  They're not cheap, though.  As I
recall, the San Marco's are in the $130 range, and the Profile is in the
neighborhood of $80 (last year's dollars).  I know my backside was worth
it, though.
